I still think "The Score" is the most dramatic song on the CD, and hence would be the most dramatically and visually interesting video. Heck, I think you could make a feature film from it.
In particular, the second verse "So white!, The moon was a wicked sight!...." conjurs up particularly vivid images for me. Sourburger, I liked your comparison to "The Nightmare before Christmas". Perhaps Tim Burton should be directing. ...jim [i:53cc3dbc5d]there's good love out there, just you wait[/i:53cc3dbc5d] |

Oh, and I simply adore the visual description "preciousthings" gave in a different thread;
http://sarahslean.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=229 regarding "Out in the Park"; [quote:33210ed26d="preciousthings"]Personally `Out in The Park` I'd love to see as a video. I could picture sarah doing a surrealistic approach to it.. and have a big polkadot parasol or something, walking barefoot.... maybe inticing all those bay street bankers with her magic, or something.[/quote:33210ed26d] ...jim [i:53cc3dbc5d]there's good love out there, just you wait[/i:53cc3dbc5d] |

My personal best image is in Vertigo. When she performed this at th show I went to in LA, she told the story of how she was driving home from Kingston (I think it was Kingston) on the 401 and how the song is about the drive, the lights, the cars, etc. It bring me into that state of a LONG night drive, the lights, the colours. It also reminds me of my drive into Medicine Hat on the way back from that trip -- as I was driving along in the dark I was reminded of the story she told so I popped the CD in and hit repeat on Vertigo, listened about 2-3 times before getting to my hotel... it was an otherwise pretty unmemorable portion of the trip, but hearing the song still brings me back to the dark road and the bright oil rigs, followed by the slowly increasing glow and size of the city ahead. Sigh.

Wow, you're kidding?? A couple of weeks ago, on my way back along the 401 from ss' kingston show, I had the very same thought while listening to Vertigo. Man, that's giving me the chills.... ...jim [i:53cc3dbc5d]there's good love out there, just you wait[/i:53cc3dbc5d] |

I think I'd have to say either The Score or When Another Midnight. Both are very Tim Burton in my head.

[quote:947e6e40fb="sourburger"]I don't know about all of you, but I find Sarah's work very visual. And I wa wondering, what is the strongest visual image you get from Day One, and from which song? Personally, I find that California does it for me... the line "The taxi open window, the summer on the wind" just paints this picture of exactly that... specifically, I get the image of someone calmly watching the world go by from inside a taxicab, hair blowing in the wind.[/quote:947e6e40fb]
lol...hmm, I'm a big goo goo dolls fan, and you just described their video for Sympathy lol...okay ummm, whenever I listen to the score I just see a big road paved in gold with this evil clown guy like IT, laughing his ass off when am I considered? *shudder* I don't know if I could watch that video. I really don't like clowns (especially IT)

hehe. the fear of clowns seems so... popular. I wonder why.
I have two friends who are afraid of balloons, I feel so bad for them. ~ If this is the car, that I must drive to the job, that I must keep for the house, and a man I don't love; count me out. ~ ~ Sweet hope is glowing in your glorious eyes ~ |

I'm only midly scared of clowns, my main fear is E.T.

Once i get home and have access to my pastels, I'm going to draw some stuff that I visualise. The most visual one for me is Pilgrim. It's got a really great cabaret feel and I get so many images and colours from it.
Now if only i had a scanner :P [img:3feb1f4bff]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v192/siren11/ljiconforsara.gif[/img:3feb1f4bff] [color=Red:3feb1f4bff]"if homosexuality is a disease, let's all call in queer to work - 'hello, can't work today, still queer'"[/color:3feb1f4bff] |
