I know this sounds like an odd question... because it is! Anyways, in the song `The Score` there is a sound that sounds like a frog croaking. It is so odd, and yet I am intrigued by it. It happens at around 2:20 where she says "when his wild eyes"... I just wonder what MAKES that sound.. I love it, and want to use it in my personal music!

After seeing The Grudge (Japanese version) that sound has kinda creeped me out everytime I hear it in The Score. :lol:

I'm guessing it's someone's voice.

I know! It's only in the left speaker too. It's so weird! LOL! I love it and wait for it every time. There's another odd sound in the CD that I wait for too but I forget where it is. Next time I'll listen I'll have to find it and point it out. I think it might be in 'Out In The Park'.

it's pretty quiet.

well i played back the govenor general awards version of the score and their was no frog sound played by sarah or the orchestra =p.

so maybe it was a rumbling tummy of someone? have you ever seen those wooden toads and when you run stick against the grooves in it sounds like a "ribbit"?
they are pretty cool and sold more or less to the tourist crowd.

i've always thought it was a lion growling intead of a frog. I thought it was a nice touch since the song have a kinda of circus atomsphere.

and it does sound like the grudge now you mention it! :shock:

My vote goes for a "Grudge" sound-bite as well. And after listening to it on head-phones, the sound starts in the left channel and crosses creepily through your head to the right channel.

I was wondering if it was deliberate or not, until I head the cross-channel trick - obviously on purpose.

Also, it appears to repeat a bar later, although its difficult to hear...right around "faces of a million" at the 2:23 mark.

I'm with cameron on the source of the sound, though I've seen similar instruments used in concert and percussion ensembles.

after recently seeing The Grudge (which is the first movie in a long time to actually freak me out) and then listening to Sarah, I was suprised at how similar the sounds are...

Hahah, that's like me bumping up the Vertigo thread claiming it sounds like that Ontario promo song.
