She played every song from Day One when I saw her here in Vancouver, with the exception of Somebody's Arms. I'd like to hear a live version too. It's not one of my favourites, but it's a great way to end the album on a positive.

In Sydney she said she wanted to do it slow and ballady, and she played about two lines. It reminded me of the type of music a la last years war or the glenn gould song. The laidback feel. Not as much as the old version of mary live though... and um then she stopped and said the label (i can't remember who she said, but i assume it's label) told her she had to make it fast. so she did. somebody yelled out a question asking her what the last track was called, and that was the response.

Anyone else?

I had always assumed it was "sleep with the lights on" (in reference to the starlight) but it can't be that, because on closer inspection, the last word definitely does rhyme with "cars"... odd.

"don't mind" is how i'd describe my feelings for Day One too. it's grown on me a little bit, but when i first bought it i listened to it once and then didn't play it for weeks. even now it rarely makes its way into my player. i'm much more likely to play Night Bugs and I still listen to Universe fairly regularly. i adore Blue Parade, but find I have to be in a particular mood to listen to it.

Well I adore "Somebody's Arms", as well as over half the songs on "Day One". Generally, I have to be in a specific mood to listen to each of her albums from start to finish, but there are songs on each that I listen to almost daily.

I'm the same way. I have specific moods for different albums even though I love them all (Night Bugs is definitely played most often though) Like this morning I was in a Day One mood so that's what I listened to before class. It's nice there is such variety!

Hmmm... well I loved Night Bugs the best, but I think Day One is definately as good as Blue Parade, if not better... It's happier, (or at least some of the songs are) and I really like some of the more electronic sounds (mary and california). And I'm with you Sweet One, I love Somebody's Arms, even if it is a bit popish and soft.
