I downloaded the itunes program but without an account couldn't purchase the single. I'm not really sold yet on paying for files, not when every year or so my hard drive crashs and a fair share of data is lost.

The preview on iTunes for When Aother Midnight sounds like the album version.

Yes, it's exactly the same as the original When Another Midnight, except that K-Os comes in after the 'opera' (whatever you want to call it) and does his piece for about 30 seconds. It's not a full remix.

hmmm, I kinda wanna get it, but if it's only different by 30 seconds, I dunno...

on MMM's edition of the Loop right now they speak to K-os about doing collaberations.

He talked about that he likes to work with people that he likes as a friend and respects what they are doing. 2 artists he said he wanted to work with was Emily of Metric and Fiest

Gosh ... if anyone does make this into an MP3, could they please surface it somehow? I hate iTunes because I don't want to put my credit card online to order anything. I know Ben Folds put a lot of his newer stuff on iTunes and I know that there are people like me out there who aren't into all of that and really like to have something tangible in their hands.

I hope they release stuff like this one day.

All valid points Kristilyn, but frankly, independent of whether or not you ever buy a track from the itunes store, I would strongly recommend downloading/installing the itunes software. Its by far the [b:ee61b2877b][i:ee61b2877b]best [/i:ee61b2877b][/b:ee61b2877b]music player interface around.

The itunes store is handy to download the odd track or two if you're perhaps checking something new out. And if you do purchase the entire "CD", its usually significantly cheaper, ie. typically $9.99.

However, I'm with you on having something tangible, hence I'm still a big CD purchaser - hell, I still by the occasional LP.

Oh, and wrt your concern over online CC purchases - thats a valid point, unfortunately even more so these days. What I've done is setup a separate credit card account, with a low credit limit (i.e $500) that I use exclusively for online purchases. Worst case the damage is limited.

I suppose I should be more open minded -- but iTUNES bugs the living daylights out of me. I have to agree with Krys, I like to have something tangible in my hands for that price. There is something always satisfying about having the real thing, if you are going to pay that much anyways. I know I won't be buying the K-OS song.. so if it resurfaces anywhere from someone.. I think it's incredibly brilliant of the folks at Apple that somehow their customer base always magically turns into a marketing team for them. I've used Apple products, and frankly I don't like them. From what I understand their capabilities are better, and so on... but I'm quite happy with my PC and my Windows Media Player, so why would I throw more onto here, or throw more money into a Mac when a PC will accomplish everything I need it to? I think there may be some 'snob appeal' to it, but who knows. It's like when you buy a Mac they make you undergo some sort of hypnosis that convinces you you must convert all PC users. *sigh*. ALright I'm done ranting. Can you tell I have a Marketing final tomorrow? lol

All I have to say is boooooo to charging money for things like this.

It's a shame that an artist(perhaps the artist is not responsible in this case, who knows?) will charge for something like this when so many others put these things up on there site reguarly for free, y'know... giving back to the fans?
