The only version I know of is most likely the one you have. I think it's at a Sarah Harmer show in Rochester (?) ... if memory serves me right.
I'd never expect this song to be recorded and I haven't heard of it being played besides at that one concert. |

She played it in Toronto too. Slightly different words.

if you listened to the interview with Alan Neal on CBC radio, you might have also noticed that when she was greeting the piano she pulled out a few chords from "Oh Man."
I think she has a lot of fun playing that one. ~ng |

One other thing...
I don't remember hearing anything about it being on Day One! :? That's interesting. With Oh Man I get the impression it's half borrowed from another song... though I could be wrong. ~ng |

That's the same impression I've gotten from it.

There were a couple tracks slated for 'Day One' that disappeared.
'Everything By The Gallon' was also cut. Sad J 'dogs and cats are licking sunshine off his boots' |

Sarah mentioned a few times that Everything by the Gallon would be on this album. But, the song IS 4 years old (perhaps older) and may not have fit in with the groove she was looking for in Day One.
I think she was pretty serious about that song, even using it in her tv appearance on that dreadful "Murder in Small Town X." I believe that all the songs on Day One were written in the last year and a half, spare for California, Vertigo and The Score which were written about 2 and a half years ago. I do love Everything by the Gallon though. It's a sweet little melancholy song. "Yes it's out there - There'll be songs, songs to sing Lengths to go to And this is just the beginning I am on my feet - I'll be dancing slow" ~ng |

is that the december show she did in toronto? http://forum.sarahslean.com/cgi-bin/YaBB/YaBB.pl?board=...m=1071729148;start=3 i didn't recognize the tune when she played it on the cbc interview. I wonder if the American release of Day One will have a different track addition. Bsides? Did that tune Wilderness get dropped or retitled? I can't recall it anymore. =/ Cameron Bay. |

She played Oh Man at a private media concert back in february 2002.
|
||||
|
she only played the first few chords of it on the interview.
and no, wilderness did not get renamed, but it did get dropped from the tracklisting. It's too bad, it's a lovely song, though definitely not one of her strongest. ~ng |

Hmm so I'd never heard of Oh Man before like... right now... anyone got it?
My biggest disappointment was definiteyl Count Me Out. Totally one of my favourite unreleaseds... SUCH a good song... that and the song that she wrote on stage at Home Bar in Hamilton... I lov eit when she does that!! lol... ~ If this is the car, that I must drive to the job, that I must keep for the house, and a man I don't love; count me out. ~ ~ Sweet hope is glowing in your glorious eyes ~ |

Agreed. it was so cute. I love hearing random little snippits from years gone by. ~ If this is the car, that I must drive to the job, that I must keep for the house, and a man I don't love; count me out. ~ ~ Sweet hope is glowing in your glorious eyes ~ |
