I wish we'd get an online video though. The main site has been collecting dust for quite a few weeks now...

^^ Wow, thanks. Can't wait to see it. That'd be super cool. I like Mary, and honestly it seemed to be the most single-prone

I agree rolling, ever since the CD was released, I always felt "Mary" was the most radio friendly track (aside from the hidden track Big Grin )

Video is beautiful!

I love Mary too. This was the first song of Sarah's that I enjoyed. Very touching.

I am terrible at explaining definitions myself.

Wow a google search I did gave me a lot on male genital waxing  ... that and Norah Jones' old band.

Wax is also a town in Kentucky.

But anyways... wax poetic is a difficult term to explain specifically... I've also heard "wax philosophical," "wax lyrical," or "wax sentimental." I've usually interpreted it to mean going on and on in that manner (poetically, sentimentally, etc) but the dictionary definitions I find mostly refer to "to grow or become as specified..." i.e. she'll become poetic to her enemies (which, in other words, means she'll talk nicely about them... or to them... not sure which).

In context:

I've got all the courage I'll ever need
I wax poetic on my enemies

Or, she's courageous enough to, essentially, laugh in the face of her enemies.

That's the way I interpret the phrase, though my understanding of it has always been kind of vague.

There is also the potential she is using poetic licence to take the phrase out of context slightly because of the way it fits into the verse. I refer you to Alanis Morissette for examples of this... in addition to her supposed misuse of the word Ironic (still under debate), she also uses the phrase "You wax poetically," which, according to the link that elizalavelle provided us, is grammatically weak.
