Her CD entered in Canadian sales at #50 but fell to #107 the next week and I don't know where it is now so saleswise, I wouldn't say she's doing all that great, unfortunately.
Radio wise, 'Lucky Me' was Top 30 on Hot AC according to R&R Canada: http://www.radioandrecords.com/Formats/Canada.asp "And now I think I'll get through..." |

What's the difference between AC and Hot AC?
I dont' see Sarah on any of those lists Since when is Tim McGraw Canadian?! ~ If this is the car, that I must drive to the job, that I must keep for the house, and a man I don't love; count me out. ~ ~ Sweet hope is glowing in your glorious eyes ~ |

I have this conflicting set of emotions regarding commercial success for artist like Sarah.
On the one hand, I'm eager to spread the gospel, as it were, and share the joy that Sarah's art brings to me. And its natural to want to root for those you admire. However, conversely, I like the fact that Sarah's kind of our "little secret", and I don't think the experience would be quite the same seeing her perform at, say, the Molson Amphitheatre. Having said that, I do believe that Sarah will have tremendous commercial success over the years. Because people truly WANT music to touch them, to affect them and to speak to them in the way that Sarah's does. Because the opposite is too depressing a notion to consider. ...jim [i:53cc3dbc5d]there's good love out there, just you wait[/i:53cc3dbc5d] |

Where does it say that Tim is Canadian?
AC is more like light adult music like Josh Grobin, Celine Dion, Elton John whereas Hot AC is Maroon 5, Matchbox Twenty type stuff. There are a lot of overlaps, especially Hot AC to AC but AC is pretty much like and Hot AC is more of a light rock/pop music so Sarah Slean would fit more along the Hot AC format than AC and even Pop radio. Hot AC radio is dominant in Canada. "And now I think I'll get through..." |

She's already too big in st. john's for my liking :P Only kidding really - the more the merrier! The more audience she draws to her shows the more I remember the intimate shows with 90odd people and how great they were. Luckily I'll always have them. |

exactly! I have a hard time deciding whether or not to spread the word on Sarah. On one hand, more fans means more records being bought which leads to more records and tours in the future, although too many fans means less intimate venues. It's a hard balance to find. "I don't need you to buy me dinner. I just need you to love me." |

noooo I don't want to share her!

"Let's all make a pact that we keep Sarah our own little secret!!"
I don't think Sarah would be too happy to hear that Like I said, I do miss the intimate shows. But good music should be spread as far and wide as possible. The world should hear (better yet SEE) Sarah and her music. The world would be a little happier. I always wonder what it would be like if Sarah's music, amoung others', became mainstream. To be honest I can't see any negatives, other than the small venues being ever so rare. All I know is that if Sarah came back to St. John's in March to play the Ship (100 people max) I'd have to camp out to buy tickets. Not something I'd like to do. |

[/quote:4805d5e5b5] he's listed on one of the Canadian AC charts... can't remember which.[/quote:4805d5e5b5] Those charts are based on songs played by Canadian radio, regardless of where the artists are from. "And now I think I'll get through..." |
