Odd moment this morning - I rarely check the main sarahslean.com page - by that i mean, literally weeks, if not months go by - but felt compelled to check it today.

Front page was updated with a message from Sarah - chock full of information for us inquiring Passioneers;

Meanwhile, I can tell you that plans for the art show are coming together. It will be at a gallery on Queen St. in Toronto, February 2nd. The site will run a contest for passes to the opening where I'll be playing with a special one-time-only ensemble. Passioneers will get exclusive viewing opportunities as soon as we know more.

The movie I completed in December will be shown at the Calgary Film Festival and air sometime later in the fall. Check the Bravo and CBC listings. It's called "Black Widow" and features Martin Tielli, Mary Margaret O'Hara, Tom McCamus, Julian Richings and many more notable Canadians. Don't laugh at the wig.

Speaking of movies, Nelson Chan (the little genius behind the Day One and Mary animated videos) and myself are currently working on a short animated film called "The Baroness" which he will animate and I will script/score. Oooowee. I think you're going to love it. It's about using darkness to come alive again, to truly know yourself... taking fear by the neck.....

Continue the battle, dear hearts. Can you feel me calling the stars, listening hard to your own scribbling pencils? I am with you. All those with the passport...it's going to be a lovely night.

The next few months seem pretty exciting for Sarah and it's nice to see that Europe will get a chance to watch her perform again.

Strange though, everything on the main site was updated for me (Tour dates, vitamins), but the "home" page still has only the June thing.

A few comments:

The first three paragraphs, I think, were mostly confirmations of stuff we casually discussed before, but it is EVER so exciting ... oh and the Buck 65 tour thing... if anyone is living or visitng out there GO SEE ONE OF THESE SHOWS. Buck is an amazing artist and performer, and I'm sure they've got a collaboration in the works.

re: Baroness/Nelson Chan... SWEET. I wonder if it has any connection to the song "Baroness" that she performed (or didn't... I can't remember... it was on the setlist) in Toronto a couple years ago. Eeeee I can't wait. . I went to a short film/video screening here a couple weeks ago, it would be so awesome to see it here next year!!


Oh, and can't wait to see the wig!! hehe.

it's nice to hear from Sarah during this cufuffle with management and hectic few months. Sometimes I think we all get a bit worn-out on this board and it's really an uplifting thing to get a message from the person who we're all on here because of.

Great to hear about the upcoming tour, and it's great about the Calgary Film Festival, I might make the trek to see that if it's possible. I would have liked to hear more about the new record but perhaps it's better to let it stay burrowed in Sarah's mind for now. Exciting about the Nelson Chan collaboration, more fodder for a Slean DVD!

Am I the only one who can't see the message in its original location? I seem to have this problem everytime, and it doesn't matter how often I delete all my temporary internet files, and so on... I think I'm like.. insane 'cause I can view part of the update but not the rest. *sigh*

I'm salivating!!

I only checked the main page last night because I was (once again) procrastinating actually getting to bed, and went to check this board, and the board was down. So I checked the main page to see if the whole domain was down, and was greeting with that new message!

Will have to make sure my Calgary writer covers/reviews "Black Widow" at the CIFF this year for my website.
