[quote:63d454707b="liposeduction"] I feel so L337...:? :P[/quote:63d454707b]

LOL....

I thought you were like 20 years old Umi?? I'm impressed...you're either an amazing student of the history of the internet, or a geek of the highest order...

For the record, S.O., "l337" refers to what might simply be described as "pig-latin" for online text chats.

It was originally devised as a way to disguise online discussions of rather nefarious and illegal nature, usually regarding hacking, software swapping, pirating and the like.

The "elite" users of various boards, i.e. the "Sweet Ones" of the day, would gradually "share" their "secrets" as new users become more proven. But communication was coded with "elite-speak", which was an odd mix of phonetic and visual substitution of letters.

e's became 3's
t's became 7's

"elites" became "leets", which became "l33Ts", which morphed into "L337" speak.

and that concludes today's internet history lesson. Big Grin

` I wanna be the bluebird singing
Singing to the roses in her yard
Roses in her yard her father grew for her
It's been raining like Tennessee honey
So long I got too heavy to fly
Ain't no bluebird ever gets too heavy to sing `

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I used to be convinced I had come up with the term "writing utensil" back in 1994.
