As our little community grows, I think it would be a cool addition to the message board to have an online chat facility so that fellow slean-heads can chat/discuss/debate online directly without necessarily clogging up the message board posts.

It would also help pass the time a bit when we're really, really bored.

yaron started up an irc a while back, but it seems there were only like 4 of us that used it... plus irc is pretty outdated now.

i think that could be cool... but I don't know if enough of us log in at the same time.

I cant' say I've ever seen more than 3-4 people online at the same time (on the thingie at the bottom... might not be worthwhile)

I don't know. I have never been to those online chat things when an artist is due to be in the chat room. Do they work well?

Usually questions are moderated, if it's a rare occasion (i.e. one that happens like... once or twice a year). Thus, people type their question and the moderator chooses whether or not to pass them on, and in turn does so. This elimintates duplicate questions too.

However, soulDecision have since made a habit of being in their chat room on at least a weekly basis, but rather than typing their chat, they use a webcam/microphone for the band member (s) around, and they speak in response to whatever they see on the screen, and people just say whatever they like. That way the answers don't get in the way of teh questions, and vice-versa.

I think that a chat is certainly an excellent idea, considering that I can't nearly keep up with the expanse of posts in such a variety of topics :P...I would love it if there was an option to chat with Sarah, but somehow, she almost seems intangible in that sense...don't ask me why..

I retract my earlier comment. There's now SIX people online!! hehe
