Sometimes I just love being a computer geek...almost makes me want to spend the money and get an errorwear t-shirt so that I can flaunt my geekiness...

If I had the money...I'd be ALL over the Mac situation...but sadly, I must stick with my pc...Santa??

You know, if you compare a Mac vs. a PC straight up, i.e. with similar horsepower, monitor, RAM, etc, etc....the pricing is awfully close. Add in the sheer beauty of the Macs and the much more intuitive (not to mention stable) O/S and it should be a no brainer.

Having said that, an entry level PC is still significantly cheaper than an "entry" level Apple.

In case you're not aware Spiff (and assuming you're a full-time student), Apple offers educational discounts.

Macs are designed like a fine automobile -- attention to fine details and easy to handle...Thanks for the info Jim! My next computer will most definitely be a Mac, but for now, I have a really good Toshiba, so I'm stickin' with it...until, of course, Windows XP decides to cough up a lung with all these security upgrades (I'm getting more popups from windows than I did from the net!). *sigh*

True, until you take into account one of the first things any good managerial accounting prof will teach you: Sunk costs are to be treated as no costs. I.e. I already own a PC, and don't own a Mac. THe cost of a PC to me, then, is nil. THe cost of a Mac is, well,.... whatever a Mac costs
