You are correct on the name.
I don't know the full answer to your question. Tals of the Baroness is the title of the film Sarah and Nelson Chan are working on. Sarah has referred to one of her persona's as being the Baroness. That's her in the red dress featured on the back of Night Bugs. One of the images in Ravens is also titled The Baroness (image 61). The SS seems to be enlarged, maybe for Sarah's intials? At one point in time Day One was going to be titled The Baroness. Cameron Bay. |

well, i`ve been thinking about that as well and found a possible answer a few days ago, when i watched the movie THE SOUND OF MUSIC.
sarah mentioned it a few times and even covered the song "EDELWEISS" - one of the best songs of that movie, sung by Christopher Plummer. Nervertheless, in this movie is a character called THE BARONESS (ELEANOR PARKER). She`s a widdow, a very strong person, dignified, nicely dressed, and all that kind of stuff on the outside. Inside, she`s rahter vulnerable i guess, and madly in love with the general Trapp, who wants to marry her, but falls in love with the joyful, singing nun in the end. maybe you can compare the baroness with miss slean a bit: she is rahter shy, fragile and sensitive, but when she goes out on the stage, she becomes this other person, strong, passionate, unbreakable. humm, who knows... |

So far as I know Sarah saved the title "The Baroness" for her upcoming studio release.

"An elegant French woman teases my hair to Dangerous Liaisons proportions. And suddenly, I am the Baroness... Methinks I could fly planes in this getup, that's how good I feel. ...The Baroness and all my other feisty incarnations must be stuck in an airport somewhere.." i never noticed until now that there are many mentions of the baroness in her macleans blog |

Did anyone else watch Part 1 on "Bravo!FACT"? I thought it was really well-done, and loved the animation style wholeheartedly. It seemed more like a moving piece of art than simply "animation" (not to take away from the wonderful animation out there, as I love the medium).

I thought the story was a bit quirky. I laughed at the part when she was writing to her uncle and mentions her robots.
Some parts of the animation I liked and others seemed overly simplistic. Favourite scene from part one was the visions she sees when looking the microscope. There should be two following parts. I hope to catch it again next week. Cameron |
