That's crazy ... I didn't even know Sarah was doing this! So, did she do all of the drawings for the movie? Some of them are kind of creepy, if you ask me! Those twins ... eek.

Anyway, I can't view the darn thing since I'm missing some kind of installer. Frowner

nice Smiler

Sarah made mention of the project in her Beachfest interview with Mix 99. I posted about it on littleslean news back in a August.

"# Nelson Chan, who we interviewed for his work on the videos for Day One and Mary, has a new project with Sarah. A short film titled "The Baroness" will be animated by Nelson while scripting and scoring will be done by Sarah." -link

I was having some trouble playing the trailer but I have a firefox/quicktime issue.

Another Baroness link @ the NFB.

Wow. The drawings are reminding me of something but I can't quite place my finger on it... however the story looks very reminiscent of an Edward Gorey tale... that same macabre feeling there but with a more in depth plot.

I can't wait to find out this can be seen in its entirety.

Yen thanks for the link, it's good to be able to save the trailer Smiler

Hmm... the trailer still isn't working for me. Looking around the site sure is exciting me though. Everything looks awesome. As for Sarah doing the drawings, I believe it's actually done by Nelson Chan. It doesn't really look like Sarah's style and I think it said somewhere on the site that Nelson did it.

Anyways, going to keep trying with the trailer...

aha, I realized what the art concepts remind me of! Has anyone read the "Nightmares and Fairytales" comic books by Serena Valentino? She also writes the "Gloom Cookie" comics and her evil queen from that is sort of Baroness-esque in appearance in some of the artist renderings. Anyways her site is under construction now but it's here: http://www.serenavalentino.com/

and to see some of the Nighmares and Fairytales comics you can click here.

I think Nelson Chan made the drawings, as he is listed for the character design (in the section:cast and crew).
But Sarah helped him creating them for shure!
I just love the fact, that the background music for the trailer is "me, Im a thief"! It was always one of my favourite songs and fits just perfectly in this sinister setting.
AND: Im in love with that hand  which indicates the different menu sections! It`s a swell idea! Great web site!
