hey everyone, not sure if anyone is into neverending white lights...producer/writer daniel victor was on much on demand the other day and he mentioned some of the artists he'd be working with for the next album (the debut album features raine maida, dallas green, etc), and he said he'd be working with sarah slean. i actually met him a few months ago at one of his shows and he mentioned that he wanted her on the first album but something just didn't work out...but that she was one of his favourite artists...which is exciting cause he's pretty cool too...together they could make good stuff. also, he gets artists from the album to randomly join him at some of his concerts...since she'll be back in toronto next year, maybe she'll play a few shows with him...but that's still the far future...just thought i'd let you all know about their little collaboration!
**~left me by the road side with my shadow and one more song~**
:O cool!! i'm excited for the next album n.w.l is opening for our lady peace on their next tour..i think thats pretty cool too, they might do 'liar' together
I thought it was quite funny how Neverending White Lights is opening for Our Lady Peace and wanting to work with Sarah, afterall we all know the history between OLP and Sarah :?
"I don't need you to buy me dinner. I just need you to love me."

Please share for those of us who don't.......so curious.....
here is the story from another post that Nikolita wrote
[quote:af95acf6df]The story (short-form) is that when Sarah was recording Universe she had a bit extra time in th studio so she did a cover of Julia. She went to an Our Lady Peace show and gave one of the security guards a cassette tape with her version of the song and lo and behold... they actually got it.
Raine Maida sent Sarah a postcard with his phone number, she called him, they arranged a meeting... but he stood her up.
She wrote a mean song about him, he heard about it, she was all embarrassed... and they never talked again. But, the tour he was on immediately after that... they played Sarah's version of Julia and quoted her as their friend (which Sarah found amusing considering their brief and rocky acquaintance[/quote:af95acf6df]
"I don't need you to buy me dinner. I just need you to love me."
oh i didn't know all this happened between them! =O is it wrong of me to want to hear that "mean" song she wrote about him? =S haha. ah well... i guess there's no way of getting hold of that song (except perhaps by illegally downloading... which is really not an option).
hm..the song isnt actually that hard to find..a friend of mine, for some reason, had a boot of it on his computer..i wonder if he was there at the time... anyway, it's called "rock star"
I hope sarah is on the next Neverending White Lights CD, and Feist.. there are a lot of great female artists he could choose from. That's why Canada is so great!
Daniel Victor mentions he wants to work with Sarah again, this time at the MMVA on June 19th.
[quote:89110fd054] Never Ending White Lights mastermind Daniel Victor also had a new album on his mind. The songwriter who worked with such artists as Dallas Green, Finger Eleven, The Watchmen, Raine Madia, Todd Kerns and Mogwai on his debut said he was hoping to work with even bigger names now that hes working on No. 2.
Trent Reznor, Chino [Moreno] from the Deftones, [b:89110fd054]Sarah Slean[/b:89110fd054], Rufus Wainwright, maybe some people that are here tonight, like Paris Hilton, he said, smirking at the last one. Im just starting to write the second record now, so its a long process.[/quote:89110fd054]
[quote:5f96ae5b80]With Emm Gryner (who appeared as the angel in NWL's award-nominated "The Grace" video) as his date, Victor used his MMVA experience to also chat up some artists for future collaborations. There were no women artists on Act I, so now Metric's Emily Haines, Sarah Slean and even Rhianna, Victor says, are on his radar. [/quote:5f96ae5b80]
