Nice find Elizabeth, thanks for sharing that.

Anyone else going? I'm tempted and it's only $6; it will probably be a game-time decision for me.

ohhh raunchy road trip tales.

Just in time for valentines.
A site I was on the other day produced Sarah's anme with "Wanderlust: Erotic Tales in Strange Places". I googled for it and found nothing so assumed it was just a porn site using her name!

nice job finding a good source.

a rather odd experience attending this show last night.

a mix of goth, porno, confused adolescent sexuality and some just plain BAD poetry.

But, it was all worthwhile to see Sarah read some stuff from Ravens as well as some new poems that will be published later this year.

She seemed oddly nervous at first - but that may have been due to the newness of the event for her - she indicated she'd never done a reading before. Or it may have been due to her showing up without any printed copies of her work or a copy of Ravens. Was funny to see her walk up to the little stage with her little powerbook (yay Apple).

But Elizabeth saved the day and offered her well worn copy of Ravens to Sarah to read from. We were still treated to the odd sight of Sarah reading her poetry from her laptop screen. One hand holding her glass of red wine, the other gesturing between mouse pad scrolling.

Anyway, after a bit of nervousness through the first one or two poems, Sarah found her voice and was her usual dramatic, entertaining self.

I don't remember the names of the poems, except one new one called "Glacier" which was simply glorious. Such rich imagery.

I'll defer to Elizabeth on the details - she took some notes (i think)

Chatted briefly with Sarah before she left and wished her well on her travels. She's officially gone by this time tomorrow.

*sigh*

what shall we do after having been so spoiled in the TO area the last year or so?

*surfs to expedia.ca to check flights to France*

Anyway, Sarah, as always was glorious and I hope she does more readings in the future - hopefully with a better supporting bill. Smiler

The review is coming, I'm just double checking poem titles... but the Glacier one is in her blogs, go back a ways there and you'll see it... I knew that one sounded more familiar to me.

I didn't take notes... too busy listening, no time for notes this time. But I wrote down what I could remember today while it was still fresh... I'll post a link in here as soon as I post it Smiler

Jim summed up the evening nicely. Besides Sarah, I found Damian Rogers' and Nancy Baker's work interesting.

I took a few photos which I'll post eventually. As always, it was a pleasure spending the evening with other Passioneers.
