The Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants Accounting and Assurance Handbook. I'll be SOOOOOooooooooooooo glad to be done school!!!
(that being said, i like the idea of this thread... once I have time to pleasure read again I'll share my exciting finds) ~ If this is the car, that I must drive to the job, that I must keep for the house, and a man I don't love; count me out. ~ ~ Sweet hope is glowing in your glorious eyes ~ |

I loved Memoirs of a Geisha ... I also read Life of Pi and Self by Yann Martel around the time I read Arthur Golden's book. I heard all the hype of Life of Pi, but I picked it up on a whim a year after it came out. I loved both books.
Secret Life of Bees is also a great read. Currently, I'm reading 'Good in Bed' by Jennifer Weiner. I also bought 'Coming Through Slaughter,' along with 'The Time Traveler's Wife,' 'Haunted: A Novel,' 'Genie: A Scientific Tragedy,' 'Confessions of an Ex-Girlfriend,' 'Milkrun,' 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,' and 'The Historian.' I have a really bad habit of buying books ... I think I need to start frequencing the used book store circuit! -K http://www.kristilynrobertson.com --- http://www.cdbaby.com/all/kristilyn <-- these are my CDs. |

*sigh*
I loved my Psych books ... I took about 3 or 4 psych classes and loved them all! I read another chick-lit book the other day, 'The Funeral Planner' - it was a really good book as well! For some reason I really like the 'Red Dress Ink' books. -K http://www.kristilynrobertson.com --- http://www.cdbaby.com/all/kristilyn <-- these are my CDs. |

I always find about 5 books I want to buy when I go to Chapters but I don't have enough money for that many books on every trip, so i'm always stuck standing in chapters forever trying to decide which books to buy |

The library is your friend too |

Ah yes..I don't know of any used book stores around me but..I don't know why I never thought of the library.

For some reason I've always hated the library. I'll always take out books and then they have to be back so soon that I can never get through them! But when I actually own a book I can read it more at my leisure.

I read Memoirs of Geisha few years ago and it's an excellent book. I'm looking forward to getting the book "Long Way Round" by Ewan McGregor. It's about a trip around the world that he took with his friend on motorbikes.

Just from the titles, those look like pretty thick books!
Someone mentioned ghost stories earlier ... I love reading ghost stories! I guess the university I went to was haunted. I love reading about that stuff. -K http://www.kristilynrobertson.com --- http://www.cdbaby.com/all/kristilyn <-- these are my CDs. |

I recently finished reading Gregory Maguire's 'Son of a Witch' which is the follow up to Wicked. His writing style is amazing, it's like reading a painting. Highly highly reccomended.
I'm now giving my brain a rest and reading a book by Iris Johansen called The Killing Game. Her stuff is kinda fun if you like darker mysteries. Sort of C.S.I ish. ...if this is all we've got to fight for, rage my darling rage... |

I'm currently reading a book about Henry VIII of England and his six wives. I just finished a book about Mary Queen of Scots.
I'm interested in reading the Penelopiad by Margaret Atwood. I just attended a book reading last Friday. She's quite charming, funny and intelligent. Among my favourites: Shake Hands with the Devil (Romeo Dallaire), Les Dieux Ont Soif (Anatole France), Blind Assassin (Margaret Atwood), The Lord of the Rings (JRR Tolkien). |

haha. It's ENTHRALLING!!! the section on application of specified audit procedures to information other than financial statements is SO deep and it really makes you think about life! ~ If this is the car, that I must drive to the job, that I must keep for the house, and a man I don't love; count me out. ~ ~ Sweet hope is glowing in your glorious eyes ~ |

Other than what i'm reading for the kids in my class - The Little Prince, and Jonathan Livingston Seagull, for myself i'm reading The Simpsons and Philosophy - The D'Oh of Homer. Its a collection of essays about different things relating to the Simpsons. Lots of essays defending the genius of the show, which i appreciate highly, given that a lot of my collaegues think the show is garbage.
don't look for me in confession booths I'm with my paints, and my pens, and my dry vermouth |
