Anything Austen
Anything Wilde
The Rutshire Chronicles and Pandora by Jilly Cooper
Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine (it's been my favourite for nearly 10 years).
The Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice (frightfully insightful and manipulative. I surprised myself and read it in a week).
HP
LOTR
The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis
Bridget Jones (obviously not classic but good for a romp).
The Sharpe Series by Bernard Cornwell

Poets/Poems:
Yeats (especially "No Second Troy")
Robert Browning
Tennyson
Keats
Pauline Johnson
Frost's "Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening"

I'm sure there's more. Such a worm am I. I'm thankful each day I work in a book store.

"We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst." ~ C.S. Lewis

[quote:74d56a9cea="johnathan"]Just a recommendation for ya Kzrystof - seeing as how your favorite book is "1984" I'd like to point ya in the direction of "Brave New World" by Adolus Huxley and "We" by Yevgeny Zamiatin. Both books are similiar in nature (dystopian literature) to "1984" and if you already hadn't read them then they certainly could be enjoyable for ya.

Oh yah, just a little extra note. Both of those books mentioned above were written before "1984" and suposedly very inspirational for Orwell.[/quote:74d56a9cea]

Thanks for your recommendation!

The Coldfire Trilogy by C.S. Friedman
Anything by Francesca Lia Block
Scribbler of Dreams- Mary E. Pearson

I love:
Paul Auster
Jeanette Winterson
Vladimir Nabokov
Gore Vidal
Robertson Davies

About interesting books we're reading at the moment. I'm taking a German lit class and we're reading a novel called 'Effi Briest' by Theodor Fontane. He is so good! As the little bio in my book says:"Fontane's sensitive portrayals of women's lives in late nineteenth-century society are unsurpassed in European literature." Yay for male feminists!

Currently reaing "The Favorite Game" by Leonard Cohen. It's quite a novel. Definetly my style. I'd definetly recommend it to anyone who likes a "Cather in the Rye" type book.
