Assuming that I am more then likely the oldest or one of the oldest fans of Sarah Slean (parents excepted), I was curious just what the average age of the Sarah Slean fan might be. Can I be the only one my age that likes new music? I think not, but just what is the average age of a Sarah Slean fan. Anyone willing to give out that information? Big Grin

18-35, that's my dating age window Wink

i think the magority of ppl on the board are in the low 20s. the age at most shows is somewhat simular too i think.
not sure about album purchasers...
i have a feeling there is a population of people that will buy her CD but not stick around on the net or go through the ordeal of catching her play live.

if your over 40?
haha, no offence to anyone.

it seems to me most the ppl at the rivoli shows are the younger crowd, likely a fair share are students.

i havent seen a theatre show before... so maybe that will draw a different crowd.

I have a 40 year old soul in a 22 year old body Big Grin

It was funny when I was at the Slean/Sexsmith show in Vancouver because there seemed to be an abundance of an "older" crowd. After Slean, I thought I would stick around for a few Sexsmith songs... so instead of standing near the stage, I stood near the peripheries of the crowd. I overheard this table of "older" people bickering over whether they should move to get a better view.

I ended up chatting with them... letting them in on the fact that they better stand up or they won't see anything... and they told me it was the first show they had been to in many years.

I think that most "older" (gosh, I hate this word... what does it mean really?) people aren't interested in the loud noise, drunk and boisterous twenty-somethings and spending money on something they could get better quality of on an album.

Of course I don't agree with this rationale... but yeah.

As for using the forums... ditto. I don't think they are interested in using them... especially when they see the cohort that already frequents them.

well, I guess i'm the exception to the rule (there's one in every crowd  ).

45 and going strong, prefer a good live performance over listening to a CD and very much "online".

I got a 60 year old soul trapped in a fresh faced 18 year old. I think I am the youngest fan on the board. But I would say the AVERAGE ranges between 18-32. However there are extrapolations on each side of that range. I don't think age really factors into anyone liking slean.. I think similar mind people like her music. So I suppose that doesn't matter with age.

23.

Though I saw Fred Penner at the last Winnipeg show, and he's gotta be getting up there now (into his 50's, anyway) so there are older fans who attend shows, too. Smiler

i loved him, hope sarah knew he was there to.

Francois, i always knew there were other fans who were older. I was just stating that I see a younger crowd at most the bar shows, not that there are not many older sarah fans.

I should put a vote in on behalf of my daughter, she's as big an SS fan as I and only 10 years old.

Frankly, I think between her and I we take the oldest and youngest awards! Big Grin

Your daughter must have a fine sense of great music then! Either that or you've brainwashed her into Miss Slean Wink haha I'm thinking the latter... but there is no shame in that !

Oh yeah, he was waiting around with the rest of for a chance to speak with her and get her autograph after the show. Big Grin

My sister's a big Sarah Slean fan, too, and she's 16. If she was able to try out for Canadian Idol this year (unfortunately, it was scheduled in Winnipeg at the same time as the Winnipeg Music Festival, and she's singing in like 7 categories for that), she would've been singing a Slean song.

I'm 17. Yay! I know a couple 16 and 17 year olds who adore her. 15 as well. My mom likes her too (she's 40.)

. . . Yeah.

HAIL SARAH! <3
