Sorry joleary, got you beat on the oldest, excluding Fred Penner, who by the way, I enjoyed years ago. Always wondered what happened to him.
Oh, I am 48 years young and love music of all types, well, I don't care for country all that much, but I fell in love with Sarahs music the first time I heard it.

I don't know which is more fascinating... the fact that Fred Penner was at Sarah's show... or that you recognized him.

I mean, I remember who he is and have a vague picture in my mind, but I don't think I would recognize him anywhere.

Yeah, I definitely attended one of those. Along with `Mr. DressUp`

` I wanna be the bluebird singing
Singing to the roses in her yard
Roses in her yard her father grew for her
It's been raining like Tennessee honey
So long I got too heavy to fly
Ain't no bluebird ever gets too heavy to sing `

Although Sarah's core group of fans seem to be in their early to mid-20's, I think her demographic covers an increasingly wide swatch.

Case in point, at her recent Peterborough show, along with my 10 year old daughter - who was the only young fan at the show in November, I saw a handful of other 10-14 year olds, as well as a few retirees having a blast.

will be 20 in less then a month. i'd have to say that the oldest crowd i've seen at a concert has been when she opened for ron sexsmith. when it's just been her, it's always a younger crowd. has a lot to do with where she is playing too.

I must agree. In Kingston, there were certainly a good amount of university kids, but some highschool ones too. What was interesting was that there were a ton of adults there. Some even brought young kids that must have been 10 and under. It was cool to hear the parents telling their little kids that 'Sarah Slean is good, she writes her own music, and plays instruments'.

Though I saw Fred Penner at the last Winnipeg show, and he's gotta be getting up there now (into his 50's, anyway) so there are older fans who attend shows, too. Smiler[/quote:b810d1e61d]

You saw Fred Penner at a slean show?! Smiler
i loved him, hope sarah knew he was there to.

Francois, i always knew there were other fans who were older. I was just stating that I see a younger crowd at most the bar shows, not that there are not many older sarah fans.

Hey, there is photographic proof of this too.

haha!! I saw Fred Penner in concert when I was 7... I even got to meet him, and he signed a postcard for me. I've met Fred Penner, yet I've never met Sarah. Hmmm... there's something really wrong with that!

I saw Mr.Dressup too.. and still have the tape I got at the show. I love him. *sniff*

oh.. and I'll be 23 in a few days.

14 here, not the youngest as Sarah has a 10 year old fan. Seems she appeals to all the age groups. I am personally intrigued by the lyrics and the way that she can write something incredible every time.
