This is amazing. My mother has told me that she didn't care wheather or not a got a tattoo. I have always wanted a tattoo. I mean, I'm not getting one until I'm 18, even though she said I could, because no place I would want to get one would do anyone under 18, but just knowing that I can is too cool for words. I mean, she lets me get stuff pierced and things like that (I have myself a eyebrow piercing and a monroe!) but a tattoo?!? Wow. BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!

it's cool that your parents trust you and your mature enough to wait to get the right work done. i hope you continue to put thought into getting or not getting one.

I've noticed that, too. I've lost a good number of friends thatnks to my intrest in body mods. Apparently they thought that a couple of piercings mean that whenever I'm not home I'm out suspending myself.

However, I now have a wonderful group of friends who (I hope) will never leave me on account of my loves. As a matter of fact, I think I'm influencing them to do what they want. My friends are getting their ears pierced and dying their hair... I'm so proud...

Anyway, thanks for the heads-up. And I will always put thought into the work I get done.

I'm not really a fan of the Monroe piercings. But I have a labret piercing and adore it to bits.
And that's a shame about your friends. If they can't deal with the fact that you want to get into modification, then it's their loss.

My mom found out about my lip piercing a few days ago when I came home for Christmas. LOL! I had it for a few months. She wasn't impressed. She wasn't "mad" or anything like that though. I don't think she really cares but she'd probably prefer I didn't have it. heh heh!

Congrats on the tattoo. I plan on getting one as soon as I figure out what I want to get.

A monroe is a piercing in the same area as Marilyn Monore's beauty mark.

I already know what I'm getting. I'm not going to go into detail or anything, but one of them has to do with AFI, an incredible band who I love. If it wasn't for them I wouldn't be typing this right now. They got me through a lot (enough that I'm dedicating part of my back to them). I feel other ones, but I don't know what they are.

I 've always wanted to get a labrette piercing ( under your lip, on your chin ) but I am too afraid of it leaving a scar on my face. I'm such a chicken.

I want to get the other side of my lip pierced now. I need symmetry on my face and having one side is out of proportion for me. I also plan on getting my eyebrow done in the new year as well as the top of my ear sooner or later. I suppose that'll be it for me since I don't want to overdo it with the piercings.

Story time children...

When I was 15 I went camping with the folks and I wandered off into the woods by myself one afternoon (as I often do). I came across an old Native man fishing by the creek and I stopped to talk with him.

A dragonfly flew in front of us and landed on a rock by my feet. He told me a Native legend from his tribe, that if a dragonfly landed on your right shoulder, you would have bad luck for life. But if it landed on your left shoulder, you would have good luck for life.

I thought this was a nice enough story and nearly forgot it until later that same summer when I had gone camping with a friend. As I sat by the creek contemplating the forest and my reflection in the water (or something equally intriguing)... a dragonfly LANDED on my left shoulder.

This held so much meaning to me... especially after having heard the legend about dragonflies. I set out to design myself a tattoo and waited 2 and a half years to actually get it done.

Not that my mother wouldn't have allowed me to get it, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a foolish, whimsical decision.

And so now, if I am ever feeling down or like things might never get better... I just have to look over my shoulder and remind myself that I am destined for good luck.

Also find the right person to do it. Someone that is clean and that has tattooed a lot of people. Look at a book of their work too. There's my public service noticement for the day. [/color:90115e6075]

I've been thinking about what I'm going to get for about two years now. It means a lot to me, so I think I'm safe. I'm still thinking, though. And there is pleanty more thinking to be done.
I also have a great place picked out for where to get it done. I get all my piercing done there, so I trust them.

I really enjoy running, biking, and hiking...and consider my feet and legs to be motor in my car so to speak. That's why I got the chinese symbol for Strength on the back of my ankle.

I paid a man to stab me in the face, again. I got an off-center labret on the third!! "It shall be my Davey Havok piercing; and my Davey Havok piercing it shall be" The guy who did it was the same guy who did my monroe. He was like: "Okay, so you know how this works... Deep breath, exhale, quick pinch and stuff?" I felt so special. Now I feel lame getting so happy over it. :P Just letting you people know. It's a ring, and that is the coolest thing I could ask for. I have a lip ring!! BUAHAHAHA! I didn't hear a crunch and pop this time either, AND I got to see the needle when it was through my lip! I looked down, and there it was. So beautiful... *sniffle*

Okay, I have to rock out in front of my mirror now. Just kidding. I don't do that... No... Not me...

If I ever get a tattoo it'll be very subtle... the stars in the constellation Scorpio (my sign), unconnected. I'd pretty much have to point them out to people to be noticed.

When I get my tattoo I plan to get a trebel clef on my shoulder. I have a deep love of music and that will never change, so I feel comfortable about getting that permanantly jabbed into my skin.

See, I originally wanted to get that done.. but so many people have the same idea. Its taken me like 2 years to contemplate the idea of what to get. I have a few ideas, but nothing concrete enough to permanently mark it

For the longest time I wanted a small music note on my right hand between my thumb and index finger, but I doubt I will ever get it.

I didn't know that either until talking about tattoos with a friend and she mentioned it. They look interesting there but people would possibly think you've done time if you had one there.
