My name's Chuck Smith, born and raised in St. John's, NL, a business student at Memorial, and I just turned 21 two days ago.
I've seen Sarah play three times now, and I'm going to pick up a ticket tomorrow for my upcoming fourth time on November 15th. My spiritual connection to the lovely songstress dates back to last March when she dedicated a Weezer cover ("Butterfly", it was way too amazing) to me, and when she bought me a beer when she was last here in July. I guess I'll stop there. we all reject for pleasure. |

Hello all!
I'm Lanna, from good ol Ontario. I feel so wee around here with most of you twenty-somethings, seeing as I'm only 16, but when I saw that there was a forum involved round here I just couldn't resist. I picked up Sarahs album day one last week, and I love it beyond all human reckoning. I'm considering picking up tickets for me and a friend to her London show, despite Ron Sexsmith. My other music-loves (other than Sarah of course) = Supertramp, NIN, Our Lady Peace, PJ Harvey, Mazzy Star, Judas Priest, oh, and the Phantom of the Opera soundtrack, because it is goodness. |

Hello,
I'm Michael from Rochester, NY. I'm 19, an English Major at SUNY Fredonia. I've been listening to Sarah for a few years now. I like to write, make music, travel, and combine them all. |

Word,
I'm Robert from the wee village of Belfountain (Ontario, Canada). I've been listening to Sarah for the past few years; lurking the message boards for a little less than that. Occasionally, I put my two cents in (which is not worth all that much, anyways; plus, gas is expensive; and don't get me started on student loans). As for music, I'll give anything a listen: pop, jazz, rock, rap/hip-hop, classical, country. Favourite artists, without getting too involved, include: The Roots, Foo Fighters, Dave Brubeck. It is refreshing to see so many people seeking, and obviously finding, 'music'; don't ever settle for less, yo. Oh yeah! I also like long walks on the beach, dinner by candle light... |

Been lurking and posting for a few weeks, thought I should do the obligatory intro.
At 45 years old, it would appear I take the award for old fart of the board. Add in the fact that Im a single dad raising three kids and I fall somewhat outside the demographic of the typical Sleanster fan. But really, who cares? Shes such a terrific artist in so many ways, not to mention such a breath of fresh air in a music world becoming increasingly pre-fabbed and manufactured. Anyway, just recently discovered Sarah via her CBC interview with Alan Neal a few weeks ago and have been working my way backwards through her works. Its almost ridiculous how much Im enjoying this little discovery of mine. When Im not busy raising my kids, Im into the arts, movies the more obscure the better, history & literature, and of course music. Recent faves include Sarah of course, Sarah Harmer and a local jazz-fusion-funk band called Mr. Something Something. Long time faves are all over the board.Tom Waits, DMB, Springsteen, Peter Gabriel, Pat Metheny, Elvis Costello, Pearl Jam, etc, etc.anything good, as long as it meets one single criteria.Honesty. Give me honest music and Im there. Looking forward to seeing Sarah live soon, planning to attend the upcoming Peterborough and Toronto shows. [i:53cc3dbc5d]there's good love out there, just you wait[/i:53cc3dbc5d] |

Well, I guess it's about time that I introduce myself.
I'm Joel, I'm 20 and I live in Cranbrook, B.C. I first heard Sarah completely by chance. One night I couldn't sleep so I turned on TV and flipped through, stopping on the Vikki Gabereau show and watched Sarah play Duncan. I was hooked! It was about a month before Nightbugs came out and I couldn't get Duncan out of my head. I've been a huge fan since day one and I've seen her twice. Once in Banff, where I was lucky enough to get to hang out in her dressing room with her and the band after the show. We sang songs, drank some beer, and told stories. The second time was at the Bluebird North tour in Calgary. Again, got to meet her and we had a nice (but short) conversation. If you wanna read more, my blog (with a sarah inspired layout) is here http://eekabod.blogspot.com "I don't need you to buy me dinner. I just need you to love me." |

Hi, I'm Willy and I'm a bum.
*crowd* "Hi, Willy!" ....yeah, hi. 20 years old and somehow I'm an ol' fashioned guy who came from the Grunge Era. The only music during my education years is pure and simple (yet different) "Rock n' Roll": Neil Young, Pearl Jam ("Yeah, joleary!"), the Ramones, the Tragically Hip, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, and others. That all changed my interest of music when I saw Sarah's video "Sweet Ones"; it blew me right in my face! Since then, I decided to listen to one other genre which is Jazz, and has the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Tierney Sutton, Norah Jones, along with others. Then Sarah came into my life again with her "Day One" album! That Sarah...... what's next: seeing her play live?! Oh wait, I already have. Son - of - a - .......... What can I say? Sarah's great! Somehow, I feel like I'm a fan just recently and she's like a guilty pleasure for me.... You know what; I told almost everyone to check her out anyways. I'm not ashamed! I rambled too much; time to shut my mouth! (or cut off my hands...... come on, I'm talking out of the computer!) zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.............. *wakes up* Wha..... I'm still on the computer?! Alright, I'm outta here! Ta-ta for now! P.S. "I'm Willy, signing off." *Willy* |

Hey all.
I'm Julie, 15 years of age, from St. John's NL. I first found out about Sarah on Much More Music when they aired "Sweet Ones," and bought her self- entitled album and fell in love. Shortly after I bought that album, "Night Bugs," came out, and I knew I'd be a long time fan. I bought her recent albums that Christmas and attended two shows of hers. I was supposed to be able to get into the bar show because my dad was able to pull some strings.. but at the last minute they said no. My brother got the album autographed though. I'm seeing her in a week and can't wait. I thought it was amazing when I met her.. when I first found out about her I emailed her saying introducing myself and asking her to come to the rock... then when I met her she remembered my email! "Oh, yes. Julie Butler! The girl who was doing her french project on me. I was like... woah. |

I'm Gabriel from Chile, just turned 24
I found out about Sarah Slean a few years back while searching for Radiohead's Climbing Up The Walls lyrics, the hiden track of UNiverse CD.....actually that's the reason I joined here...I can't find that CD in any record store, and my local music store only buys from big records catalogs, aparently www.maplemusic.com is not big enough for them, too bad.... Anyway, I'm in 4th year of astronomy in Chile |

[color=darkblue:6e207636db]Hey *waves to everyone*
My name is Steph. I'm 21 years old and I'm from St. John's Newfoundland. I've never been on a board where there has been other people from Newfoundland, let alone a whole bunch. I first heard Sarah Slean's songs on the radio but I never actually sat down and listened to an album until my boyfriend gave me Day One. He is a big Slean fan so needless to say I hear alot about her. I saw her concert for the first time this November and I'll be attending her next concert in March. I'm currently in school. Yay for education.[/color:6e207636db] |

Heather/Dagny from St. John's, NL. Russian student at MUN. Big fan of Sarah Slean since I was about fifteen and I saw Sweet Ones on Much More Music. Managed to inconveniently be out of town both of the other times she played here, but saw her finally last week. It was everything I hoped it would be.
|
||||
|
For how small the Russian dept. is at MUN it's funny seeing 2 of them end up on this board. Me being one of them of course.
