This is awesome. It seems like about 1/3 of the peoeple i meet nowadays work for them... or something. I have a few friends that work with them in the GTA, another friend did a summer or two at each of the London and St. Catharines ones... You people do good work -- and definitely something I personally would NOT have the patience for. Smiler

after a couple days of pondering - i have decided to walk into a room, rather than climbing in the window!

i do enjoy an entrance at times tho, so im gonna be brief here! i think ive already put too much behind the spells to lower defence shields, but having said that, im sure none of you are feddies anyways! right?!

kevbot is the operating system for 'kevin'

im like, almost 31, insanely heterosexual - despite having an obvious tendency to invoke Sarah Sleans magickal incantations, in the midst of a completely active, construction supply company yard! while all of my co-workers would laughingly argue my sexual preference here, if afforded the opportunity - i am more than happy to admit a heavily dogmatic attachment to the opposite sex

normally - i wouldnt spend more than a passing comment on the fact of it, but, because of said tendency - i am subject to much good humoured(i hope) ridicule by my peers - so here, i would like to make it a Staple of my adoration of Sarah Slean - both her abnormally attractive appearance, and way more so by her incredible Artistic Expression(gift to the masses).

i do a whole myriad of things when im not helping to build Phaoroahs Pyramid - but by far my favoured Efficient Waste of Time Activity is reading parapolitical media - and yea, some conspiracy stuff, for GOOFactor when the real world HAS to be less creepy than the pretend(Moloch Worship in Bohemian Grove? I mean, just what is that about?)

im also into Magick - not specifically the Crowley Brand(socio/psychopath), the Kev-ley Brand!!! its short for the different social programming mechanisms ive been exposed to in my almost 31 years, and my attempts to order them, for application in concurrence with my will(a blend of establishment educations and religions, combined with various schools of the occult world ive been looking into since i took my first 'red pill'(Bilderberg)

im a Matrix Loving Geek and a Batman Freak(and other comic books especially 'The Sandman', and Hellblazer) - and i was raised My Mothers Child, which, as ive already stated, has probably been the healthiest thing that coulda happened in preparation for my Adult Life As a Failed Woman At Birth(insert laughter).

im a guy through and through, but i share the not often expressed opinion, that all men are failed women at birth. This helps me to be a man i find. And not a Penis.

im single and not-looking because my dogmatic interpretation of the thing is that these things aren't found, they just happen.....so i guess im optimistically single then - tho my heart truly belongs to She Who Is All, Our Beloved Cosmic Mom - i feel theres enough of me for the 'physical reality' too

well, im truly babbling aaaaaaas usual - so ill cut the incantation here , pay tribute to Stan Lee, and say -

'nuff said!

sooo.... I usually don't join message boards. Actually I never have. But I am so Sarah Slean crazy, I had to. I know I'm new here, but it is totally unrepresentative of my adulation (or adoration... or whatever) of S.S.

Anyways, my name is rob chung. I'm from Whitby, Ontario, new teacher; teach in a small town called Brooklin, and its pretty heavenly. Went to U of T for English, Drama, and history, which was ok i guess, and started listening to Sarah then... in about my first year, where my musical life journey took a funny turn from some hardcore trance and euro, to the world of Canadian Women. Always loved Canadian music more than anything - BNL, Blue Rodeo, The Hip, McClachlan, etc., and have a very strong view on the lack of publicity our Canadian musicians get, even here in Canada. Whatever. I started listening to people like Kathleen Edwards, Sarah Harmer, and tried to find more not so popular Canadian women musicians. One day in my quest, I came upon a Sarah Slean, found out that a bunch of my friends went to school with her, and figured that I can't go wrong with someone from Durham Region, and bought Night Bugs.

I think the first time I heard it, I died. Everything about her music was beautiful, and like a pre-pubescent boy yet unable to control his new raging love throbs, I became totally infatuated with her; I am slightly embarrassed, and totally proud to say that I had (still have) a massive childish crush on her, and it is very quickly developing into a truly heartfelt emotional longing to immerse myself totally in her music... (I hope that doesn't sound too psychotic).

I love Night Bugs, and Day One is just as fantastic. I love the musical theatrishness (I know thats not a word) of it all, being innately a music theatre person. I love the writing - the poetry, the dark emotion conveyed with such precision, and most of all, I love and my heart pangs at the beauty and the sadness/joy/pain/love/hope of the intense showering of emotion every song delivers. She makes me feel.

I don't think i've ever been so affected by a musician. I don't think I ever will. But this is not a unique feeling. The thousands of you here know what I am talking about, and nothing that I've said so far is anything new. I can only say that I hope that my involvement in this funny, mechanical experience called the Messageboard will somehow bring me closer to people who share my emotionality for Sarah Slean. And thats important.

Tomorrow when my students walk in to the classroom, they will hear music as they have since the first day of school - it will not be what they would choose to listen to. It will not be a musician who makes billions of dollars, or someone with an immense fame, beyond those few who understand that to fight a thousand times for the sake of love is the only thing. They will listen to a story about Duncan, or Eliot, or Mary, and hear beauty personified in music. And throughout the day, this music will play, at times quietly in the backgroud, at times so loudly that they will not be able to think of anything else. And they will become better people for it.

So, I have said more than I should have, and I think that if you can get through my soul expulsions to this point, then you are as psychotic as I am...

For the short version - I hope and love, and I hurt and heal, and music is my ambrosia.

another teacher... splendid!

I dont think Ive "introduced myself" in this thread... probably because I didnt think I needed to.

I like random facts. I also like Amelie. So heres an introduction Amelie style.

Nicole likes:

travelling in vehicles at night
the feeling right after a big sneeze
listening to musical arrangements with cellos and double basses
the following three words: merveilleuse, almohada, teflawist
tickling and/or making funny faces at small children
watching lava lamps
the squishy feeling of mud between my toes
hearing a new limerick
laying awake at night listening to the rain
smelling vanilla right after opening the bottle

Nicole dislikes:

people talking during concerts
peeing when I know someone can hear me
the following three words: virgin, panties, wholesome
entering alone a room full of socializing people
children being scolded in public
not knowing what is behind me
seeing someone exhibit their double-joints
unibrows
someone else flipping through a photo album I am looking at
picking a hair off my tongue

I think its a fair to suggest that a wholesome virgin would be wearing panties. :P

A marvellous pillow usually brings teflawist.

I can only assume by the context that teflawist means good dreams.

I've tried online searches and translators for practically every language (including Latin, Swahili, Norwegian, and yes, even Hausa), none of which turn up any sort of result. A google search only found that Teflawist is the name of a Nigerian music group.... but I doubt that they are brought by marvellous pillows.

teflawist (I just love saying the word, dont you?) is a tamasheq word(language of the tamasheq or popularly "tuareg" people).

That is so awesome that there is a band called Teflawist!

The meaning of the word is just about as awesome as the word itself. Smiler

Hopefully my hints will help your happy hunting...

~ng

PS (its pronounced Tefa-la-weest)

oh! I found the site that talks about the band Teflawist.

They are from NIGER!!! How much cooler is that! Though reading the page it is quite sad... they were talking about how there are so few musical groups to come out of Niger and not for lack of talent. For example, Teflawist is a band from Agadez which is the second biggest city in the country but there is absolutely no access to decent recording material (at least according to the person who posted). Its unfortunate, but I cant say that I remember hearing about any recording artists there.

I wonder if they are a Tuareg band!? Cause if so, that would be doubly cool because the Tuareg are very highly discriminated against in Niger.

I also looked up FofoMag as someone on that message board reccomended and it is bringing back so many memories. At first I was like "Why did they call it FofoMag...?" and then I remembered one of the few words in Zerma I learned there... which is "Fofo" which means hello or hey. Big Grin

~ng

PS (OMG! There is a band called "Alberka" I think thats the OTHER only word I learned in Zerma. I kept hearing it in the market and thought they were talking about a ship (cause it sounds like al barca, which is actually italian, but whatever) but then someone told me its the expression they use when someone is trying to cheat them... Ex: ask a merchant "how much is that rug?" and he replies "400 cfa" and you say "Alberka!"... Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin )
