After following the NOOOOO! thread with growing frustration I got to thinking.

Heres a legal approach we can take. Bombard the promoter with complaints, polite or not your choice, and demand that the show be changed to All Ages or at least have an All Ages section included.

Contact info for the St. Johns promoters is as follows;

Hits FM 99.1
391 Kenmount Road
St. Johns NL
A1B 3P5
Phone: 709.726.5590
Fax: 709.726.4633
Email: hitsmail@991hitsfm.com
Web: www.991hitsfm.com

The Express
36 Austin Street, Station A,
P.O. Box 8660
St. John's, NL
A1B 3T7
Phone: (709) 722-8500
Fax: (709) 579-7745
email: editor@theexpress.ca
Web: www.theexpress.ca

Sonic Entertainment Group
Attn: Wendy Philips, Publicist
phone: 902.491.1991
fax: 902.491.1839
email: wendy@sonicentertainmentgroup.com
web: www.sonicentertainmentgroup.com

Point out the following key points;

1. the actual tickets dont mention anything about age restrictions

2. There is no mention of any age restrictions on the Hits-FM website concert announcement http://www.991hitsfm.com/news.asp?ID=59

3. There is no mention of any age restrictions on the Sonic Entertainment Group websites press-release http://www.sonicentertainmentgroup.com/pprl_calendar.htm

4. There is no indication of any age restrictions on the admissions.com website, right through the entire ticket purchase process https://www.admission.com/html/coord.htmI?CNTX=1711&...N&C=CA&ret=0

5. Even the tour date announcement here on the board doesnt make any mention of any age restriction http://sarahslean.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=365

Lets put grass-roots democracy, and the power of passioneers, into effect. Lets get Julie into the show!!

Ya got my support. If it was in a bar I'd fully understand - but this is no bar.

I'm up for doing that, good job on doing your homework Jim.

Might be worth posting a link to this thread on Navy Soup.

Jim, while I LOVE your idea, I really don't appreciate your comment. Sarah is our number one concern. This message board is attached to her website. While it is you (very wonderful) fans who use it, and that's what it's here for, she (and we) are still responsible for the content. I have the discretion to delete whatever posts I want to but I'm not, I'm just asking everyone to be a little more aware.

We try to supply as much information as is given to us, when it is given. We don't make the venue policies, sometimes we don't even know what the policies are. I do know for a fact that this show is 19+ but if you guys can get it changed, that would be great. Good luck.

Greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat idea, but I can see where Cathy is coming from.

` I wanna be the bluebird singing
Singing to the roses in her yard
Roses in her yard her father grew for her
It's been raining like Tennessee honey
So long I got too heavy to fly
Ain't no bluebird ever gets too heavy to sing `

Cathy, my comment was inappropriate and I apologize.

I've since editted it. Red Faceops:

In the meantime, thanks for the wish of good luck, we'll probably need it.

I know you don't set the individual show policies, but if there's any chance to swing a bit of influence towards St. John's, I'm sure one of Sarah's biggest, although youngest, fans would greatly appreciate it. Big Grin

I've contacted all promoters. My mom works on the Express. I'll see if she can get me any more voice with them.

I will be quite disappointed if Julie isn't in that ballroom on April 9th.

This is fantastic.
Too bad the enthusiasm hasn't made its way over to Blue Kaffee land.
http://www.bluekaffee.com/topicview.php?topic=24066

It can be frustrating because I've been talking to some people my age who complain about the fact that the show is restricted.. but won't do anything about it.
It just takes some emails.
Grrrr.

Also, what does "Razz," mean? ---> :P

I'm so sorry to hear about your misfortune Julie! I know how it feels...I missed a Sarah show a few years ago due to the fact that I was underaged at the time. As with this case, the tickets didn't have the age limit printed. I hope the campaign works out! Let me know if there is anything that I can do to help you!

On this note, the next Toronto show is 19+. Anyone wanna launch a campaign for this one?

More response from Hits-FM.

[quote:4b825f20a1]Hey Jim

Just to let you know that as instructed I have sent your message regarding the Sarah Slean concert on to the promoter.

Cheers

Nothing yet from the actual booker/promoter, Sonic Entertainment.

Time to turn up the heat a notch I think!

Come on passioneers, take 3 minutes to fire off an email if you haven't already.

Yeah, I've gotten the same replies.

I hope they find some kind of happy medium.

I've gotten a lot of really patronizing replies from some 20 year olds though.
*rolls eyes*
I should be like... "Hey, I've been listening to Sarah since you were wetting your bed!"
Razzer
Or maybe not..
Haha.
