Hey guys!
So I was putting together my EPK at Sonicbids and I couldn't help but notice that a lot of musicians require a keyboard DI ... maybe I'm just having a blond moment (not being blond), but what is a DI? Anyone know? -K http://www.kristilynrobertson.com --- http://www.cdbaby.com/all/kristilyn <-- these are my CDs. |

Is this something I need as a keyboard player?

it's actually something called a Debian Installer. i'm not exactly sure of what that is or what it does - but that's what di stands for!

I've usually played on real pianos or on someone else's keyboard (and had no involvement whatsoever with the setup!

i have no idea what a Debian Installer is but the D.I. you're referring to is definitely a Direct Input. are you plugging the keyboard into an amp? does the keyboard have speakers? most live venues with a half decent sound system have DI boxes on hand; i've never had to bring my own. probably best to talk to the soundman at the venue you're playing at and he'll tell you what if anything you need to provide based on what you and the venue already have.
