Anyone else here a Musician?

I've been singing for 13 years. Had Professional Training for 10 of the 13 years.

For the Singers, Do you know your Ranges? I can hit from Eb2 to A4 (That's both my Falcetto and Regular voice. Lol)

I've self taught myself piano. For about 2 years now.

I've been playing Flute for three YEars and Saxaphone(Tenor and Baritone) for about 4 years.

So, Anybody else a musician of any kind?

Besides screwing around with the percussion in the music room... I played the french horn once. Once.

Oh how I miss the French Horn. I played it for 6 years and was pretty good, but always used the school-provided instrument. Since graduating (so nearly 7 years ago now) I haven't touched one, as they're well over $5000 to buy, so that really sucks. I loved that thing.

I've played the piano for 8 years ... I took music in university and recorded a CD for my capstone project (www.cdbaby.com/cd/kristilyn) and played many a live show that year. I love my piano ... I'm glad no one else in my family plays because there was no way I was leaving home without it! Much to the shigrin of my cat who hates it ...

I sing as well ... my voice is nowhere near the caliber of American Idol or anything (and I use American instead of Canadian because I absolutely hate Canadian Idol), but I think it's got some jazzy qualities to it.

What else have I dabbled with? The guitar and I met often a few years ago, until a work accident that made it impossible to do anything with my left hand. I learned recorder in elementary school and in university ... I played a little accordian for the CD ... and I played the glockenspiel for the CD.

Aside from playing, I also write music ... I write music for handbells and have won an award from the Alberta Guild of English Handbell Ringers (hoping for another one this year!). I even wrote and arranged all the strings, horns and other various instruments for my CD. I'm hoping to record another one soon, but I have a mortgage and a complete lack of funds, so unless someone wants to record me for free ... Smiler

Anyway, that's about it! If you've read this far, then thank you!

-K

http://www.cdbaby.com/all/kristilyn <-- these are my CDs. Smiler "This music is in the vein of Terami Hirsch (without the electrics), Sarah Slean (without the drunk-ish vocals) and perhaps, Tori Amos (without the nuts)." Amy Lotsberg, Collected Sounds.

I've been playing the violin for 10 years.
I've also played the clarinet, and I'm in some choirs. I'm in Musicals, if that counts.
