Or famous for you I met Rick Mercer the other day on campus. He was filming the Mercer Report and was moving from one area to another and I managed to shake is hand and say "nice to meet you" and got his autograph. He seems like a really nice guy.

I met Matt Good and he's not always a jerk! He let a bunch of us take pictures with him and get autographs.

I was an extra in a movie not too long ago (Santa's Slay ... horrible, horrible!) and I stood next to Dave Thomas, but I never really met him.

Other than that I've only met Sarah Slean and Ann Vriend (an amazing Edmonton singer!) ... not sure if they're really 'famous' but ...

My family went to Vegas a long time ago and we went to a show that had a bunch of impersonators and Little Richard sat in the booth in front of us ... he was escorted in partway through the show.

My boyfriend and I attended 'A Night of Improv' at the Winspear Centre last year and Jarome Iginla (Right-Wing for the Calgary Flames) sat next to me.

What else?

I once went to a Tori Amos concert in California and made it into those little gates for the meet and greet. I never actually made it to the front, but then the crowds parted and I caught a brief glimpse of Tori.

I haven't "met" anyone famous though i've seen a few close up in Toronto. During the film fest I saw Pierce Brosnan, Ethan Hawke, Hugo Weaving (agent Smith in Matrix), Annabella Sciorra and Sammi Cheng (Hong Kong actress).

Not sure if this counts as famous, but I've met Margaret Atwood and Jane Urquhart.

- A bunch of other wrestlers (they were hanging out at the same bar I was at one night)

- Trevor (lead singer) from Jet Set Satellite

I also missed a few people who came into the HMV I used to work at. Shannon Dougherty came in and bought hundreds of dollars worth of CDs while I was on my lunch break once. And Dave Grohl came in on my day off (I think there were a couple other musicians who came in that day, too).

And I see Fred Penner all the time around Winnipeg. Does he count as being famous? :P

Wow, that seems like I'm some kind of celebri-whore. I'm really not, I just don't usually mind waiting in line-ups after shows to get an autograph, etc.

And I'd say Margaret Atwood counts as famous.

mainly by virtue having more years on my odometer, I've been lucky to meet countless "famous" people over the years.

My fave is as follows;

I was in SE Asia about 10 years ago working. 6-7 week long trips at a time. Based in Singapore mostly, but travelled around the area. One week i was in Bangkok and was lucky enough to see Pearl Jam perform at the height of their grunge power in a small venue - about the size of the Mod Club ~.500-600 people i'd guess.

I was back in Singapore that following weekend and went down to the hotel pool area on the Sunday morning for the hotel's amazing and renowned sunday brunch. I'm filling plate with fresh exotic fruit when i bump into the person next to me, knocking his strawberries and jack-fruit to the ground.

I help clean up and turn to apologize and suddenly realize its Eddie Vedder.

Long story short, I hung with Eddie and his wife Beth for a few hours by the pool, eating fruit, drinking and trading travel stories.

Good times.

oh yeah. i met scott speedman in december when i had a seasonal job at pottery barn. he is ridiculously cute.

I've only met a couple famous people.

I met Joni Mitchell numerous times when I was young. She comes to P.A. All the time and my mom used to work at the Arts Center here. So, I'd see her on a regular basis.

And I met Seether at a festival and they were assholes. My sister and I had backstage access and we went back, told them they played a good set as we went by to check out the other bands and they started being really rude, calling us ugly and retarted and stuff. It was just really stupid.

I really want to meet Sarah someday. She seems so down to earth and fun. I'd love to have lunch with her or just hang out with her for an evening.
