So, I'm not sure who's all aware, but President Bush has sacked his speech on Parliament hill for fear of getting too many boos, and has decided to come to Halifax. Why? Well, I'm guessing he thinks we won't make such a fuss because we have the Navy base here -- and he wants to thank sailors for contributing to the war on terror.

I don't know about you, but I'm itching for a protest, but I can't protest all by my lonesome, so all you maritimers out there, spread the word!

What do we want? Protest! When do we want it? November 30th/December 1st!

I'm not sure exactly where Bush'll be speaking or on which day that he will be in the city, but I'll post updates to that effect. I'm looking for people who are interested, sign ideas, chant ideas, etc. Anything goes, really.

Hey friend...I heard that he is going to be doing it at the airport next Wednesday because he is meeting with the Prime Minister on Tuesday.

I commend your efforts. I'd certainly do the same if he came here. Show him he's not welcome in our country.

I certainly hope that my efforts turn into something tangible.

I too commend your efforts and would love to join up to express our collective dislike of the man.

However, may I suggest an alternative approach?

Send him a copy of Day One....perhaps a bit of love and joy in the form of Sarah's music would chill the man out a bit...

Ahhhh, if only....

Sarah said her goal was to change the world... and with the power Bush has, it's worth a shot! LOL!

perhaps we can teach him a little bit about joy...spread the joy, although I doubt he'd understand.

Sadly, I agree. :?

Although we should never underestimate the power of music.

heh heh, that's true. He does seem to have that ability to be clueless about most things.

Regardless of protests/non-protests and the general feeling about Mr. Bush in Canada (which I mostly share), I still hope his visit to Canada is a success. Our country's cattle ranchers REALLY need the border re-opened for live cattle again. Too much money has been lost by all these poor people because of the stupid border closure!!! :x

I find it annoying that they want our cheap drugs and flu shots but they won't accept our beef and wood. I saw close our borders until they open theirs.

Well actually, the Bush government is against people getting drugs from Canada (claiming there's no guidelines to prove our drugs are safe), so closing the borders on that would just appease him.

Oops, I meant specifically flu shots.

Nope, Bush doesn't want those either. He likes to keep his population mildly terrified... it keeps him in office.

i'm not sure what protesting would accomplish, but i've always felt that way....

all i can say is that i don't like bush, but i couldn't tell you why i don't like him...thus my presence at a protest would be hypocrital and not needed....

good luck though.
