The Olympics were great this year. I'm very proud of our athletes, they performed well. I was a bit skeptical when the COC said 25 medals, but they came really close.
Too bad the men's hockey team couldn't get their act together. That's a long discussion in itself... :x

A drug test will likely disqualify someone pushing us to 25.

[quote:e4f4df6054="flare"]I just watched the Olympic closing ceremonies and they were great, but...what do Ricky Martin and scantily-clad dancers have to do with the Olympics or Italy?! Maybe I'm missing something.[/quote:e4f4df6054] I wondered that myself. And even I gotta say... what a gay shirt. Pink with sparkles?

Ricky Martin? I thought they were the 2006 Olympics not the 1998 Olympics...

Did anyone else think he was lip synching? I swear there was one point where he was "singing" with the mic held way out and then he quickly brought it back... I can't say I understand why he was performing in the first place either...

At some point he was getting a little too into the dancing and the mic was hanging around by his waist, and obviously forgot his cue. I think he realized in time to "sing" the last word of the line. It wasn't Ashlee Simpson bad, but it was [i:9b1e9fabb7]pretty[/i:9b1e9fabb7] obvious to me! Provided some good laughs though.

The line "It's sometimes wise just to shut your eyes" really comes in handy when you're peeling a grapefruit... ouch...

did anyone see Family Guy on Sunday when they bashed Ashlee Simpson? It was a joke about lip-synching and they cut to her getting ready to sing on SNL and right as she was ready to sing, the music changed to Old Man River, an old song sung by a guy with a really deep voice. It was so funny.
