Hey guys,

I'm in the process of applying for some jobs to work somewhere east of here (Vancouver) for the summer (May to August). I'm really keen on going to as many concerts/festivals as possible in that four months. I've never been east of Winnipeg before so I really have no idea what it's like or what kinds of things are happening in the summer.

So, if I moved to, say Montreal (which is where I'm looking at right now), would you say it is realistic of me to assume I could make weekend trips to Toronto and surrounding areas to see shows? There should be plenty for me to do in Montreal, but I'd definitely want to hit Toronto once in awhile. Or, would I be better off living in Ontario?

Any ideas/suggestions?? I'm really excited!!

Thanks!!

I've bussed to Montreal from TO for weekend trips so it's totally possible. I find it best if I know someone who is driving (or if you drive) between cities.

Montreal (from what I've seen of it) is a great city Smiler

...if this is all we've got to fight for, rage my darling rage...

Montreal to Toronto is possible, but likely not something you would do very often. By car it's around 8-10 hours.

Montreal -> Ottawa is shorter distance or even crossing over to the US.

If I was in Montreal I would probably take on Montreal's festivals like the Jazz fest or Pop Fest vs. heading down to Southern Ontario.

You should have lots of good show opportunities.

Thanks for the advice! Hmmm... I'll definitely look at job opportunities around Toronto as well. I'll see what happens...
