What's everyone asking for/hoping to get/wishing for but knows it won't happen?
What are you getting for those on your list?
I'm getting a trip to Calgary from my parents and some stuff from my better half. I say stuff, becuase she won't give me any hints but I know she has a few things for me :P
I got my parents and brother gift certificates to some of their favorite stores, for I am the world's worst shopper.

Hmm...what am I wishing for?

Friends DVD's because I only have 3 seasons and I've been watching them over and over and I'd like new seasons Smiler

A fleece blanket so that I can finally put all the patches in my collection on to it.

I don't know what I'm getting from my better half either..he won't tell me either :S

I'm making my parents a family tree/picture thing and I don't want to reveal the other gifts...heh heh

This is my buy nothing christmas whereby I will buy nothing for my friends and family and expect the same from them.

All my gifts are handmade...

Everything from scarf/mitt sets, to clay angel christmas tree ornaments, to paintings.... not a single item bought.

I don't want anything for christmas because it just means one more thing to get rid of before I go or try to pack into my suitcase... so I've told all my friends/family I'm accepting donations for a laptop.

I'm doing a bit of re-gifting this year. My employer is giving us all mini-ipods as christmas bonus' and I'll be "re-gifting" mine to my 14 y.o. son.

My 13 y.o. son's primary gift is a set of snow blades and, keeping in the snow vein, my daughter's getting a snow board/boots/bindings.

As for me? Hmmmm.....food for the hungry and world peace?

More realistically, I'm holding out for the new LOTR dvd. And invariably the most treasured gifts I receive are artistic creations of various sorts from my kids. Last years art offerings included a pastel Christmas scene and a copper etching.

s'all good.

Apparently my parents went all out this year -- unlike them. I'm hoping they listened to my subtle (HA!) hinting thatI want the new Matrix DVD set (shh, I'm a geek -- TEN DISCS! How can I resist?)

For those on my list, I'm making a lot of things, as opposed to buying. I am tres broke.

I've done the DIY gift thing a few times. The joys of being a poor college kid :P But people enjoy them more than storebought things sometimes so its nice.

I wish someone would "re-gift" an IPod to me

I'm hoping for a digital camera because I love taking pictures whenever I'm with people! Plus clothes and some little things. I don't have a better half so I'm not getting anything in that department. Frowner

I have no idea what to get other people. I went down to the Black Market last week and got a bunch of stuff for people. Good place to shop, I think. I also hate Christmas shopping. I don't know what to get my parents, also. What do you buy them!?

Three movies + a special features disc for each = 6
Disc 7: The Animatrix
Disc 8: "Return to Source: The Philosophy of The Matrix" is an hour-long discussion on the philosophical elements of the movie.
Disc 9: "The Hard Problem: The Science Behind the Fiction" also runs an hour and discusses the science of the films and its possibilities for a real-life Matrix.
Disc 10: "The Zion Archive" is the leftover stuff.

couldn't they have just put the last 3 disks together?

seems logical to me... but then again I don't always have logical logic.

Yeah, they probably could have. But the extra discs probably let them jack up the price a little. Heh, that's why I'm asking for it for Christmas!

don't forget the bust sculpture of Neo.
also, the box/case it comes in seems pretty swank.

Cheers.

I love making gifts for people, but my friends don't really "get it". They're more impressed by store-bought.

In the past I've made tiny christmas ornaments/displays depicting standout moments with my friends. But I think they're all broken now Frowner

I am making my boyfriend a cookbook of all our favourite recipes.
