book smart, street stupid makes me feel like sitting underneath a lamppost on a warm rainy night contemplating everything i could be doing, but i'm not...hmm...i love it....[/quote:cc7b4bd055]

What a perfect description of this song... Warner should use this to promote her! lol.

I wouldn't call this my favourite Sarah song (its not even her song), but its easily the most incredible showcase for her angelic voice....

from the Universe EP, her version of Gabriel Faure's "Pie Jesu" soprano solo from his Requiem Op. 48.

Mere words can't describe how beautiful her voice is in this piece.

Duncan and Eliot. I've managed to figure them out on the piano, so I love to just sit and play them... man, can Sarah Slean write music! Also, she did a different and wonderful version of Duncan, I believe, at a "Songwriter's Circle" thing I saw her at in Ottawa a couple years back.

AHHHH totally. When I listen to that song, I always picture Sasha from "Good Morning, Midnight" in her finest dress, with a bottle of whiskey concealed in a paperbag. She's sitting on an old woodenbench under a lampost in Paris brooding over all she could be, but never will achieve.

` I wanna be the bluebird singing
Singing to the roses in her yard
Roses in her yard her father grew for her
It's been raining like Tennessee honey
So long I got too heavy to fly
Ain't no bluebird ever gets too heavy to sing `

I really enjoy "Book Smart, Street Stupid" and "Drastic Measures."

Heck, add "Bank Accounts" in there, too.

Nightbugs itself is such a wicked album. One of my alltime favourite Canadian releases.

I adore "Eliot" Big Grin

Also, I have seen two songs mentioned here that I have never heard of before: "Beautiful" and "Like Her." I feel so incredibly out of the loop. Frowner :?

"Beautiful" as in Christina's "Beautiful"? that would be awesome.

I highly doubt it. Though it would be kinda... neat.
