Sounds good Cameron. I say you pitch it to the powers that be, see wher eit gets you! Smiler
I'd buy it. So you're guaranteed at least 5-10 buyers. lol.

As for the record on maple music, I'm totall ybuying it, wheneverI end up receiving my Sarah Print. I'm still waiting on the Jann Arden mousepad I ordered in May. WOnder if it'll ever turn up.

I'm still doing my homework Neal.

So Canadian bands at a fame of Slean are releasing vinyl still.
Hawksley Workman - Lover/Fighter (UNIVERSAL)
Danko Jones - We Sweat Blood (DANKO JONES)
Cursive - The Ugly Organ (SADDLE CREEK)
Metric- Old world underground, Where are you now? (EVERLOVING)

I was looking through the process of getting a master acetate done. 50$ US a side. That would be the pricey party. Pressing the master to vinyl and printing a hardcovered jacket? I don't know, but "the powers to be" can ask their friends Hawksley or any of their network.

The article all so states how often music is transfered from it's digital forum to vinyl. I don't find that to important =p

Btw, do you guys think ppl outside this message board would buy it? I think at every show she could sell a few at her merch tables, even to brand new fans. What a great way to show of her tallents as a photographer, artists, and muscian.

Canadians on major labels with vinyl releases tend to be popular overseas. I would assume a large fanbase would justify the price you mentioned.

Then again, indie vinyl releases usually sell for 10-15 bucks...

And if you could get me a vinyl copy of Old World Underground that would be great. :P

sorry Jason,
I have never seen it with my own eyes. I came across a top 10 list of LPs choosen by the Perfect Sound Forever Staff.

those albums i mentioned were from "Kortney Jmaeffs". This year the person appeared to pick no Canadian acts that i recognize.

Rufus Wainwright: Want Two (Geffen) is also on vinyl? I see it listed on that sites 2004 top 10 lists.

Are you reading us Sarah? Maple? haha.

I think it's a great idea. It is one of those things Sarah fans would invest in, but also others at her shows. If I saw a vinyl at ANY show, I would pick it up for that sheer fact. There are a lot of younger people really getting into it. I know most of my friends own some, and are always looking for new stuff. It's become a huge cult following in "scenes" .

Singing to the roses in her yard

So long I got too heavy to fly

I think that people that showed up to Sarah's shows by pure chance might buy it, especially considering her more upbeat sort of style of late... There might be some DJ's floating around in the audience.

I'm sure Hawksley wouldn't mind helping her out, though rumour has it he wasn't too impressed with her latest work. Not sure how much weight to give rumours, they're usually false, but something to keep in mind.

Mostly the 'overproduced' comment that some other 'fans' have thrown around... I honestly didn't hear much, nor did I want to hear much because I personally despise rumours... probably shouldn't've even perpetuated this one.

Ahhhhhh. That has been a comment about her album before from other critics. Personally I think it was just Sarah being Sarah ; morphing. I enjoy her album, but I suppose I am biased ha!

LOL yes... many people had that comment, which is unfortunate... and it's a debate that's gone on and on... either way, the 'rumour' was that Hawksley was on taht particular side of the debate.

Kinda funny how such 'debates' can permeate a good chunk of the culture yet sales of the album are definitely not reflective of the amount of people talking about it Frowner

Maybe a record release can change that Big Grin

Hey Jason, I was at the Metric show last nite and had a look for that vinyl. They appeared to only be selling the Dead Disco single for 15$. (cd - 5$).

totally off topic... but I love Metric. I LOVE Metric.

In fact, I think I have a girl-crush on Emily Haines. Musically speaking of course.

[quote:873885aeec="Jason"]It's a collaboration she did with Spine called the Collage EP. She sings on the track 'Like Her' where it samples weight. Here's a review from 2001...[/quote:873885aeec]

I finally received this in the mail... it's actually incredibly good!! I thought it was a sample of Weight, thanks for confirming that! lol. How delightful. I now own 4 records Smiler

Everyone wants to be her....
