I must say, I always thought the lyrics were far different than what they really are in Drastic Measures. She once remarked, I believe, that she gets lost in the music Smiler

^^^Indeed she does

Not to mention that its far from uncommon that she forgets her own lyrics during live performances. :P

^ ^ Those moments are gold!
It makes the concert experience... um... more authentic?
I dunno if that's the right word, but I think you get the gist. Big Grin

Cheers.
[You give them your music, but they just want a song]

I don't think I've ever seen her forget the words, that would be [i:50d1c0500c]great![/i:50d1c0500c]
That reminds me of Ella Fitzgerad's "Mack the Knife". Haven't heard it? I urge you to find it ASAP.

The very first time I saw her she forgot the words to one of her songs... I had never heard of her at the time, but I distinctly remember her being really excited and nervous about opening for Sarah Harmer, and forgetting the words to her song right in the middle of it, and just made up something about "Sarah Harmer's coming on next, this is so exciting ...." or something to that effect.

[quote:b1122a65b6="Ella Fitzgerald sang, not"]Oh, the shark has pearly teeth, dear
And he shows them, pearly white
Just a jack knife has Macheath, dear
And he keeps it out of sight

Oh, the shark bites with his teeth, dear
Scarlet billows start to spread
Fancy gloves though, wears Macheath dear
So there's not, not a trace of red

On a Sunday, Sunday morning
Lies a body, oozin' life
Someone's sneaking 'round the corner
Tell me could it be, could it be, could it be
Mack the Knife?

Oh, what's the next chorus?
To this song, now
This is the one, now
I don't know
But it was a swinging tune
And its a hit tune
So we tried to do Mack The Knife

Ah, Louis Miller
Oh, something about cash
Yeah, Miller, he was spending that trash[/color:b1122a65b6]
And Macheath dear, he spends like a sailor
Tell me, tell me, tell me
Could that boy do, something rash

Oh Bobby Darin, and Louis Armstrong
They made a record, oh but they did
And now Ella, Ella, and her fellas
We're making a wreck, what a wreck
Of Mack The Knife

{Louis Armstrong imitation}
Oh Snookie Taudry, bah bah bah nop do bo de do
bah bah bah nop do bo de do
Just a jack knife has Macheath, dear
And do bo bo bah bah bah nop do bo de do {}

So, you've heard it
Yes, we've swung it
And we tried to
Yes, we sung it

You won't recognize it
It's a surprise hit
This tune, called Mack The Knife

And so we leave you, in Berlin town
Yes, we've swung old Mack
We've swung old Mack in town
For the Darin fans,
And for the Louis Armstrong fans, too
We told you look out, look out, look out
Old Macheath's back in town[/color:b1122a65b6][/quote:b1122a65b6]

I don't have an mp3 of that anymore, but if I can find the mix CD I put it on, years ago, I'll rip one and send it to you!

Er, by "rip one" I mean mp3.

Not fart.
