How come the 'green album' isn't listed on the site anymore as an official release? It was the *only* one ever released in the US. Is it just that all the songs overlap the preceding and following albums?

Yeah it's a bit strange how it isn't listed. I certainly don't consider it an 'album' though. Seeing as how it was the only thing released in the US I'd consider it a showcase of sorts - a mix between the new (at the time) and old material.
