Can anyone who has seen the shows so far give us an update as to how the opener was?

Well I bought his latest CD, if that's any indication.

He has sort of a male Sleanesque voice, in that it has more tone than your average male singer-songwriter. He plays both the piano and the guitar, and was sometimes accompanied by an additional guitarist.

This was really my first intro to Royal's music and I must say he was quite good although his songs all had a slower tone to them. He reminded me a lot of Ron Sexsmith.

He did a really great version of the Oompa Loompa song too!

That CD is NOT available in the U.S.A. though.

I'm a fan of Royal's. Have seen him open for Sarah before and have seen him play a few other shows. I don't have his latest album did buy Tall Tales. I enjoy hearing it from time to time.

I'm sure you can find places to order his album through his site, maplemusic, or 6 shooter.

He's amazing. And he's on Emm Gryner's record label. Big plus there.

When I talked to him at Sarah's show tonight he was a total sweetheart and really, really nice. Cute, too. lol

Royal is amazing. I had never heard of him prior to him touring with Sarah, and I feel I've been missing out. He started earlier at the Winnipeg show (show was supposed to start at 8, but his set started at like 7:40). Luckily I got there right when they were introducing him. I'm glad I did.

He is amazing. Amazing voice, great musical talent. Songs are well written. Absolutely amazing. Something about him performing in a suit makes him look real good, haha.

I got to meet him after the show, got a pic and autograph. Bought his latest CD and I can't stop listening to it. "A Mirror Without" gave me chills when he was performing, so I bought the CD because of it. Well worth it. He was a great guy (for the brief moment that I talked to him).

Wish him all the best, can't wait to see him perform again.
