I am SHOCKED and HORRIFIED that they gave a lifetime contribution award to the person behind the monstrosity that is STANDARD RADIO!!!! HORRIBLE

Sarah had the fortune of giving the Songwriter award to her friend and tourmate RON SEXSMITH! Smiler. Musta been an awesome moment for her. She co-presented with Burton Cummings (whose head kept getting in her way) and Hayden (sp?) from jacksoul. They kept getting interrupted by people screaming things -- I swear it sounded like "Love you Sarah" at least once or twice... she kinda blushed so it's possible! hehehe

Awesome re: running into sarah... I woulda thought they'd get it on the WAY OUT though, that's hilarious. SHe was wonderful of course... she didn't win her award... but I literally JUMPED for joy when I heard "ssssssssssssssssssssssssssarah".... and then he said "Harmer" and I'm like *insert obscenities here*... oh well, good showing. Smiler

The rest of the show... meh. Sum 41 actually impressed me with their performance, they musta been trying for some cred, but in my mind they got it. Tragically Hip were, well... umm... tragic.

We probably all felt like that. But could you imagine how the Sarah's would've felt hearing their first name?

Cheers.
[You give them your music, but they just want a song]

Disappointed she didn't win, but it was a strong category. She looked great in the red dress. I didn't notice her earrings, did she get new ones to go with the dress?

I caught it all and was fooled by the Sarah... Harmmer bit too. my fam laughed. My bet is she was more happy with Ron winning the song writter award then anything else Smiler
Day One also didn't win in the recorded engineering album. i think q94 mistakenly made a comment about sarah presenting and not receiving this morning. it didn't sound like anyone minded.

The award show looked pretty good. Even Fiest having her little trouble actually made for a really good performance. the crowd was right with her .

i have a feeling the party is still going on. look for the reviews tomorrow.

(I don't think her mike was working, there was so much background sound...but still great.

Good on Sarah Harmer for winning. Must admit though for a second I thought it was going to be Slean, aw well.

I thought the Feist and K.D. Lang performances were the best part of the night.

^^as gigs mentioned, the audio is difficult to hear.

they did fix the mic in the last minute, enough to hear Sarah name off some candies Wink

From what I was hearing, it sounded like she was talking about staying in the cabin and recommending others to try that for themselves. I think they both aproved of the KD Lang performance and wouldn't mind the Neil Young status at 50.

If anyone missed, there are pictures from the red carpet up on Blue Parade - http://www.geocities.com/sarahslean_blueparade.

I'd put some up from the show, but these files are huge.

Smiler

She looked great! Too bad she didn't win (but she's a winner with us, right? Smiler).

[color=darkblue:7d7ba602d2]I don't know who the host was but he did a terrible job. He was just so lame and annoying.

Too bad Sarah didn't win. Although I do like Sarah Harmer a lot.[/color:7d7ba602d2]

I was actually quite pleased with the Junos for once. Winners of many of the categories were actually deserving, as opposed to years past. Feist getting best new artist, Ron Sexsmith FINALLY getting his deserved best song writer award, Sarah Harmer takin one home, and K-OS taking a couple as well. The host was a little lame, I'll agree, although he did have a couple of good moments.

I was a bit saddened that Sarah didn't win, but it sure was nice to see so much of her. I just happened to flick on the tv at the right time to see her on the red carpet. The Junos this year were actually pretty good. It seemed a bit less pop oriented...I must say that the Winnipeg collaboration at the end was much better than the one they did at the grammys...
