I thought this was interesting... I've only ever heard of sarah playing the guitar herself at a show once before (other than this).

A few months before her major label debut Night Bugs hit record stores, I saw Sarah Slean play a little campus bar about the size of a living room. Of course, no one knew who she was yet, so even this tiny venue was a lonely place � half the audience left after the local opening act finished onstage.

Anyway, as the show choked out its death rattle, an unfazed Slean decided to liven things up, grabbed her guitar and told the 10 or 15 people in attendance to follow her � right into the women�s washroom, where she performed a lovely little take on Weezer�s "Butterfly" (better acoustics, see?).

I�m guessing her followers are too plentiful now to pull off that particular trick, but it made for a memorable show. To see how Slean handles a bigger crowd you can check out the piano pixie on a series of upcoming tour dates across Canada, supporting her latest LP, Day One. She'll be joined on portions of the tour by Jorane and Jeremy Fisher.

Been quite a bit of talk of late of Sarah and guitars. This little guitar and a bit of confussion if she played one at Port Mansion the first nite.

No, she didn't play guitar at Port Mansion the first night, but from first-hand accounts I've heard that she did play it the second night.
