Sarah Slean’s sixth studio album is just as boring as ever. Sure, she’s a capable songwriter, but she doesn’t take any risks. The only extremes in the music are the overly maudlin theatrics that make it seem as if she’s older than she is. Slean comes off as drama without the scandal; I can just imagine her with closed eyes, holding one hand over her heart while the other flits oh so carefully across the piano keys.

Some cheesy songs on this record might make you feel something – if you’re in one of those moods when just watching a television commercial can excite emotion.

Emma McKenna seems kinda like a douche, no?

I mean, the review is *really* negative, and I can't understand someone thinking that way about a clearly talented songwriter (even if you don't like the music).

Emma's a musician too.

Be nice if she referenced a song or quoted lyrics to support her points.

Sarah always sounds wiser then her years.

1. Universe
2. Blue Parade
3. Night Bugs
4. Day One
5. The Baroness

Orphan music is more of a live album then a 'studio album' although it contains a few B-Sides.

I don't find this one boring.

yeah i actually saw that review last week and forgot to post it. when i read it i was like... wow. that's brutal. i totally disagree with the review. i just hope not too many people agree with her...
