Here are a couple of other translations:
1.Sarah Slean may Wim turn, Aldous Huxley and Egon tench. many-sided interested shows himself the classical pitchforked pianist also on her album Day One ( warn). who Norah Jones to lovely, PJ Harvey to askew and Tori Amos to radiant finds, the three but nevertheless somehow may, becomes Sarah Slean whole safe loves. 2.Sarah Slean likes Wim Wenders, Aldous Huxley and Egon would educate. Multilaterally interested the classically educated pianist appears also on its album Day One (warning). Who finds transfigures Norah Jones too lovely, PJ Harvey too obliquely and Tori Amos too, that likes three however nevertheless somehow, Sarah Slean will love very certainly. Still kinda sketchy..... [quote:dffeddbac8]however nevertheless somehow[/quote:dffeddbac8]
I love that combination of words  ... I should start using it in everyday speech. |

MUST HEAR
"Better than PJ?" Sarah Slean likes Wim Wenders, Aldous Huxley and Egon Schiele. The classically trained pianist appears multi-interested on her album Day One. When you find Norah Jones too sweet, PJ Harvey too "left of centre" (literally diagonal, but I'm guessing this is what they mean) and Tori Amos too "transfigured", but you like the three of them none the less, you will certainly love Sarah Slean. |

Lydia, you are our shining star when it comes to translations. Never leave us! hehe. Did you find out whether or not Sarah will be coming anywhere near you yet?
PS I wonder if any of us ever imagined Sarah being featured in "Elle"! EDIT: Also just noticed that "Somebody's Arms" is actually featured on the main tracklist in Germany, not as a bonus track. ~ If this is the car, that I must drive to the job, that I must keep for the house, and a man I don't love; count me out. ~ ~ Sweet hope is glowing in your glorious eyes ~ |

JUST to continue to babelfish silliness, here are the amazon.de reviews:
Reviews Culture news "I'm spreading love like A terrorist now": This threat of the Canadian Songwriterin, discharged to klimpernder clown music, sounds itself gruselig, but is not only also in such a way meant. Sleans of texts always settle on the dark side of the poetry. The love unfolds its largest strength in the pain. Disappointments lurk everywhere, even if "Out lures into the park" the lyra box man. Streicher, key board and electrical organ give a hintergruendigen musical Pomp to the songs. Music for the next Tim Burton film? Wednesday of the Adam family anyhow would enjoy its dark this album... (kab) Customer reviews Average customer evaluation: 1 of 1 customer found helpful the following review: Enough of new Singer/Songwriterinnen? Not of this!!!, 11 April 2005 Rezensentin/Rezensent: sunshinenick (more over me) from Munich, Bavaria Germany Which artist may be compared it already gladly with other (more famous) colleagues. Probably not many. Thus it will not be able to hear Sarah Slean just as probably meanwhile already nearly any longer: This comparison with tori Amos. The similarities actually are superficially regarded also obvious: Delicate Mrs., which piano, who thoughtful, entrueckten, melancholischen Songs... But so the thing becomes also again not simple on the second view. Sarahs voice is on the one hand not like that clear and, but a little more rauchiger, nearly already more rockiger. The piano of the kanadierin is besides by far not as dominant as with tori Amos. It subordinates itself rather equally, into a whole from guitars, Streichern, various guest instruments, schlagzeug and evenly piano. And during with Mrs. Amos some pieces occasionally nearly a little too verkopft, bulkily and inaccessible, keep themselves Sarah Slean one - in the positive sense - work certain Popappeal and much a freedom of movement without assistance of commercial concessions on the Charts to squint completely. The best Songs on "Day One" is "Pilgrim" - with its brittle and dark Indie charm and the heavy Streichern, "Mary" - a beautiful Ballade with spherical sound surfaces and a fantastic melody, the piece of title of "Day One" - a playful and impudent number with absolute Ohrwurm Refrain, as well as the low-sad and moving "Vertigo". All in all Sarah Slean offers a varied mixture from tenderly poppig to stubbornly rockig, of cheerfully to cloudy, always independently and fastidiously and far away from 08/15-Radio-Massenware. Sarah Slean is more genuinly secrettaps. Hopefully it does not remain thereby!!! My GOD that is entertaining to read, although I did like this line:
"The love unfolds its largest strength in the pain." The Addams family part was great! "I don't need you to buy me dinner. I just need you to love me." |

Sadly, not yet. I am still waiting for official tourdates to surface. And while I'm at it, here's a translation of the first Amazon review (even if Babelfish did a pretty decent job of translating that one): [b:9dd1830105]kulturnews[/b:9dd1830105] "I'm spreading love like a terrorist now": This threat from the Canadian songwriter, belted out with pounding Clown music, doesn't just sound dark; it's meant that way. Sleans lyrics always nestle themselves on the dark side of poetry. Love enfolds her greatest power in pain. Disappointments lurk everywhere, also when "Out in the Park" lures the 'lyra box man' (?). Strings, keyboard and the electric organ give the songs a background of musical-pump. Music for the next Tim Burton movie? Either way, Wednesday from the Addams Family has a dark friend in this album.(kab) |

I wonder if "Clown music" has a different meaning in German :?
~ If this is the car, that I must drive to the job, that I must keep for the house, and a man I don't love; count me out. ~ ~ Sweet hope is glowing in your glorious eyes ~ |

I don't think it does.

Hmmm... Well, it's an interesting analogy I suppose. These German reviews use such interesting words, I really love it. Even if something is just lost in translation, it's so flowery and metaphoric.
