There's a couple here from different newspapers in the CANOE network, not sure if they got posted.

http://www.canoe.ca/JamMusicArtistsS/slean_sarah.html

The first one suggests a December 2005 release date for Black Widow Smiler

Yep Smiler
December 2004, filing; December 2005, showing.

I haven't run into her around town yet lol. In fact, I'm not even sure what part of town they're filming in. Maybe they're in Westdale.

Thanks for posting, S.O.

One of the stories, "Keeping Her Chin Up", from March 2003 makes mention of a musical version of Fight Club?? Whats up with that?

I think the musical is called Boy Wonder. She talked about it in an interview with CBC Radio. I don't remember all the details (someone correct me if I'm wrong) but I think she said it's about a city powered by some furnace. The furnace is run by a boy who disappears one day. I think she wants Hawksley Workman to play Boy Wonder. Would love to see that.

I also think she said the musical is Orwellian. I love 1984 so it should be interesting...

Looking forward to seeing Black Widow. Any more info? Director? Cast? Maybe after this she can star in an Atom Egoyan or David Cronenberg film. Smiler

I agree Yen....Boy Wonder is definitely the musical she's working on. But that's a far cry from a musical verion of Fight Club that's mentioned in the article???

in a few interviews sarah slean has pointed out parallels between the ideas of her musical and those in fight club.

the idea that we have to fight to feel.

PS (I can try and excavate those quotes if you're really interested)

Ooooh, I wondered what happened to Boy Wonder! There was a lengthy article in the [i:d90abbc6e2]Toronto Star[/i:d90abbc6e2], and then *POOF!* it disappeared. No mention until the release of [i:d90abbc6e2]Day One[/i:d90abbc6e2]!

I am a huge fan of Chuck Palahniuk's (his novels are just amazing!), so it was really surreal to see two of my favourites sort of being linked. But I digress. Smiler

I will try to find a copy of the article. I have access to the [i:d90abbc6e2]Star[/i:d90abbc6e2] archives, but I think I might be infringing something or the other if I posted it up here. Bah! Frowner

copyright, schmopyright. :P

post away L...I can't imagine the big, scary torstar lawyers will be concerned about a few geeky, passionate fans here on the board.

Besides, there's been no shortage of allegedly copyright infringed posts already on the board. Big Grin

Well, Jim, I took your advice. But then I realized that the [i]Toronto Star[/] archives only went up until 2001. Frowner

However, I did find a version of it for you. It's significantly shorter than I remembered it being, but that might have been because of the ENORMOUS picture Sarah that was published alongside the article.

Here we go: thank you, navy-soup! Smiler
