[quote:f07a28f189]In other news, I saw Black Widow at the film festival during lunch today. I think that if it hadn't had Sarah Slean in it, I would have mocked it mercilessly. As it was, it wasn't a bad movie, and it was actually kind of fun, but mostly I felt like I was watching Sunset Boulevard as enacted by The Kids in the Hall. The lead male was Martin Tielli from The Rheostatics and it was driving me nuts where I knew him from. I finally decided that he looked like a mating of Jeremy Hotz and Jeremy Piven. But then [info]angelinamoon called me and informed me of who Martin Tielli was, so it was all okay.
However, he kind of sucks as a dramatic character, since it was a musical and his voice has a fair enough range, but in the moments where he was supposed to be ragingly pissed, he was just trilling away in his falsetto and it had no real emotional punch. The slow, sad songs were good, though. And Sarah Slean was quite good, although she had a moment near the end where I was just like "oh... dear."[/quote:f07a28f189]
When I hear back from the authour of the post I will credit them as they see fit. I will say for now that it's just the review of an ordinary person.
Might be nice to keep all the reviews in this thread, especially those that are published.
