Okay, in my humblest of opinions, anyone who likes Sarah's music is of sound musical tastes. But everyone has one guilty pleasure, one artist/song/CD that they would never publicly admit to liking.

So, spill, lovers. What's your guilty pleasure? Wink

Just to make this a little less uncomfortable: I like Britney Spears. That's like the death row of guilty pleasures, isn't it? :P

.. when I am all alone and the lights are turned down.. and I am positive I am safe that no one is around.... I rock out to [b:60c1b5fe74]Hanson[/b:60c1b5fe74]... a lot. It's a sickness really, but I do.

Please don't ridicule!

Singing to the roses in her yard
Roses in her yard her father grew for her

So long I got too heavy to fly
Ain't no bluebird ever gets too heavy to sing `

To name a few:

soulDecision, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, BSB, *NSYNC, Madonna, Cher, Avril Lavigne.......

The list goes on and on and on... About the only artist I don't like is Enrique Iglesias. I dunno why, the dude just bugs me. lol.

hahahaha. are you referring to the Let's Do It Right video??? That was awesome. Smiler
THey have a new album out now too... Shady Satin Drug. Cadillac Dress did fairly well in Vancouver (I heard it EVERYWHERE when I was there this summer!), but poorly here... Kiss The Walls is doing okay too.

there aren't really any musicians I feel a guilty pleasure for listening to.

BUT... my guilty pleasure could be what I don't listen to...

(prepare yourself for some hardcore blasphemy...)

I don't like U2 (I can recognize that they make meaningful good music, but Bono's voice drives me insane)

and I'm not a big radiohead fan. I mean, there are a few songs that I really like and I can see why so many other people really like them... they just never stuck for me (despite the many grueling efforts of my aghast friends)

OH MY GEE NICOLE! Honestly, we need to meet, because we are the exact same way. I remember that old section on your site when you said you didn't care for Emm Gryner, and I am the exact same way. And I really don't care for U2 either. Their music is "meaningful" but it's the voice for me too.

Oh, and never got into Radiohead either.

Holy moose droppings!

Wow.I adore radiohead to bits...

But I can agree withm U2. Bono is a great guy and all.. but their music does nothing for me. But then again, I am not an Elvis or Beatles Fan. I'd much rather rock out to Cat Stevens, Tim Buckley and Simon and Garfunkle. I just don't understand those artists allure. Appreciate? Yes. Adore? No.

I think I just didn't have a proper introduction to Radiohead, and it kind of affected my understanding of the album. I can totally appreciate what they are doing, but I could never "get in" to their music. I could just never find that opening. :?

I totally agree... except I also am not a fan of radiohead. Don't mind the beatles though. My point, though, is that when it comes to acts like U2 or Radiohead or Elvis... I have a world of appreciation and respect for them, but definitely no adoration.

Gotta say though, I never really cared for Simon and Garfunkle before, but when I saw Sarah open for Art Garfunkle, we of course stayed for his show, and it was quite superb. There's a lot to be said for the live talents of some of the artists of the pre-MTV age.

I've posted on topics like this before, but it's always a different group of musicians I have to mention depending on which board I'm posting on. :P

So let's see... what would be considered "embarassing".

I'm a big fan of [b:fb1490ff32]Boyz II Men[/b:fb1490ff32] and [b:fb1490ff32]Babyface[/b:fb1490ff32], although I've gotten away from that ballad-y R&B more and more over the years.

I enjoy [b:fb1490ff32]Michael W. Smith[/b:fb1490ff32].

I really like 80's metal (I've seen [b:fb1490ff32]Def Leppard[/b:fb1490ff32], [b:fb1490ff32]Poison[/b:fb1490ff32], [b:fb1490ff32]RATT[/b:fb1490ff32], [b:fb1490ff32]Night Ranger[/b:fb1490ff32], [b:fb1490ff32]Warrant[/b:fb1490ff32], and [b:fb1490ff32]Helix[/b:fb1490ff32] live).

[b:fb1490ff32]Creed[/b:fb1490ff32] used to be my favourite band (don't like them quite as much anymore, though I still love their first album).

I still like listening to [b:fb1490ff32]MC Hammer[/b:fb1490ff32] when I get the chance, and you can't go wrong with old-school [b:fb1490ff32]DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince[/b:fb1490ff32]!

That should be good for now.
