Anyone else loving this guy?
He's been on The Casino, but i first heard of him when he played Sonic Bloom this year (avec Sarah). Quite impressive.
I got his album "Two Shots" back in the summer, and it's really quite good... he's like a young Sinatra, I love it.
I just got his new CD, Peace On Earth -- a Xmas album. He does a duet with Hawksley on Peace On Earth/Little Drummer Boy, exquisite!! He worked with Terry Sawchuk (formerly of "Alanis" fame) on it. I'm a little annoyed though, it came with a mail-in rebate if you buy both albums, but only if you bought them after October And it had one of those sticky security tags too! lol
Either way, anyone else?

To be honest I can't get into Dusk. I'd much rather listen to Peter Cincotti (http://petercincotti.sparkart.com/). Something about Matt Dusk rubs me the wrong way

His video's mostly.. they could very well all be the same thing ha! And his voice.. it seems contrived some how to me. Like it's Matt Dusk impersonating someone.. not Matt himself. But I'm just an odd ball -- everyone else seems to adore the kid.

Hmmm.. I've never seen his videos, but from what i have seen of him (including in person, with a symphony.... perhaps that's influenced my opinion lol), he's quite attractive

And yeah, he might be trying to impersonate those he's compared to (Sinatra comes to mind when I think of him.. mostly because "Two Shots" was written by members of U2 as a tribute to Sinatra)... but perhaps he just coincidentally has a similar style, or has developed a similar style in liking those artists...

I get that feeling as well. His voice seems like it's trying to sell me something. Not a fan.

Speaking of dashing Canadian singers, I also have a thing for Michael Buble.

I'll concur with the "dusk is somewhat contrived" view...and I'll apply that same notion to his looks. No doubt he's "hot", but even there it strikes me as if he's trying just a bit too hard....you know, the whole..."look at me, look at how hot I am" routine.

Nothing "natural" about the guy in my books.

I highly agree... Dusk seesm dead. great he can carry a tune but so can my cat no offense. i can listen to him and i appreaciate what he does as a musician myself but he has no emotion and meaning when he sings. It just as if he's reading out loud with pitches... my jazz quartet and i have this inside joke that he's a robot programmed to sing in smog-y bars because he's too perfect and seems surreal to be human -he gives no sense of humanity/humility/awareness of content in his work

I saw Matt in concert last night it was an amazing show. I must admit I was a bit hesitant because I wasn't sure that I'd like his music, I mean listening to one or two songs is different than a whole concert. It was really really good. Lot's of interaction with the audience and afterwards he came out into the lobby to sign CDs and stuff. He seems a little rigid but all in all he's a great performer.
