Hey all!

Well, I released a CD mid-December and it is up on CDBaby, if you would like to take a listen. Amy over at Collected Sounds says I sound a bit like Sarah Slean, Tori Amos, Jill Tracy, just to name a few.

Hope you like!

http://www.cdbaby.com/all/kristilyn <-- these are my CDs. Smiler "This music is in the vein of Terami Hirsch (without the electrics), Sarah Slean (without the drunk-ish vocals) and perhaps, Tori Amos (without the nuts)." Amy Lotsberg, Collected Sounds.

I'm so jealous!

I've been writing and self-recording songs for years but have never gotten an actual real CD out there anywhere. I'd love to. It's one of my life goals, lol. Not to have it be a big hit or on the radio or anything (although that would be cool), but to just have an album that could be bought in stores or online.
I'm doing a Recording Arts course now so I do have access to a studio. The sucky part is is that I can't play instruments...! So I have like 50 songs but I can't re-record them in the studio because I can't play them. haha. Aw well.

Awesome that you have your own stuff out tho. Do you have a myspace? And do you do your own website or does someone else do it?

That's great that you have so many songs! I love that I have something tangible, but I also love that I'm not "famous" (what does that mean, anyway?) ... personally, I enjoy the time spent at home with my fiance and my puppies, and playing shows here and there, rather than relying on it for my only income.

I like making them at home, too ... it's nice to have the time to actually play around and figure out what I want and not waste anyones time but my own.

I do have a MySpace, although I'm hardly ever on there:

And I manage most of my website and solicit my brother to do all the hard stuff. Smiler

Have fun in your Recording Arts class ... I've always wanted to take something like that, but find I get bored with technical terms and am more prone to sleeping than actually learning anything! I envy people who get something out of those classes ...

And I hope to see a CD from you one day! Smiler
