aw, that's too bad. Frowner

wayne from cuff the duke told me that he's heard amy's 4-song demo, which he describes has "mind-blowing" and "fucking awesome."

sound-wise, he said it sounds "rootsy."
i'm so curious to hear it!

on a sidenote, wayne also says of sarah: "she's great. she's really great!"

back on topic, i don't think i'm going to check out this show. i don't know who the headlining artist is, plus $13 is a bit steep for me right now.

but! wayne said that amy might be opening for cuff the duke in the future. if that actually happens, i will be ALL OVER that.

back to listening to my interview with wayne, so i can write my article...

not to be an annoying bragger but lets just say a friend of a friend gave me a bunch of her demos, way more than 4.. and yeah they are awesome. Isnt the album slated for this year/summer?

^ oi, that's awesome! i can't wait to hear her solo stuff myself. this year sounds about right for a release date, though i'm not entirely sure.

cameron - i didn't specifically ask wayne about sarah. he knows i'm a fan and we were just talking about upcoming shows. he did a solo show at poor alex the same night as the sarah show. i was like, "gah, sorry, i can't come see you, i'm seeing sarah slean!"
he's something of a friend (cuff the duke orginated in oshawa, which is also my hometown). he's a great guy.

if you end up going to the show, let me know how it is! i doubt i'll end up going... $13 is just a little to much for me to afford at the moment. Frowner plus i don't want to see amy just open for another artist; i'd rather see her headline.

Ummm its a bit more country/folk tinged, earthy is a great adjective actually. Definetly not like stars, stars is more dreamy and electric. I actually like stars a lot more. but her solo stuff will probably reach a totally different audience. I want to compare it to sarah harmer but I dont. Their voices are two seperate things but the music I guess is kiiiiiinda similar. But it's good nonetheless! Id highly recommend going to this show if youre in the area, it's going to be great.
