Thanks for the tip-off. I've heard of them, but only because I'm lucky enough to live with a radio host here in Ottawa who's addicted to indie bands. They're like the love-child of Sarah and Broken Social Scene - and they're coming to Ottawa on the 2nd! (eep!)
They tour ALOT though, mostly in the GTA and Southern Ontario... must be all the rain over here: so many depressive artists...

yeah, when I heard about their new cd, the name sounded familiar and I figured out that they were there. I wasn't blown away by them at that show, but they didn't seem to fit the rest of the artists...
"I don't need you to buy me dinner. I just need you to love me."
Wow! I've only listened to their songs on myspace, but I like what I've heard. I meant to reply to this comment a few days ago, but I forgot about it. It may be too late for most of you, but I just noticed from the cbc homepage that they are going to be on Fuse tonight (Saturday the 18th) at 9:00 local time (6 atlantic, 6:30 in Newfoundland) on cbc radio 1. In a strange coincidence, it seems that Mr. Alan Neal is also the host of this show as well. I would like to take this opporutunity to say that I am in no way affiliated with the cbc.
For anyone who's going to be in Ottawa on Saturday, December 2nd:
The Acorn's hosting a double cd release party with Toronto's Ohbijou! The show's at Babylon; tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. 19+ only; stagetime's 8:30 pm but space is limited so get there early, pick up a cd and show your support for local artists

The show was amazing... The Acorn's not bad either, but they're a little rougher around the edges. Ohbijou's definitely a more polished act, especially for anyone who loves strings.
This past weekend I was also introduced to a band named Flotilla <figuratively> Anyone else listen to them?
