For those of you (me included) who missed out on her show last week at the Drake Hotel, Martha has a return gig booked for Thursday, June 9 @ The Mod Club.

Just saw the announcement on Rotate This - heading over this afternoon to pick up a couple of tix.

I picked up her CD earlier this week, and it's very good. I'd love to see her live.

One question, though.....
Before I bought the album, I downloaded "Factory" from Soulseek and that alone was the clincher for me to buy the album, because the song is amazing.
However, unbeknownst to me before, the CD version of "Factory" is a little different, and a little faster than the MP3....and I kinda like the MP3 one better
Did she put out another demo or something, possibly with the original version of "Factory"?

Factory single (available on iTunes UK):

Oh, and although Ridley Bent is also booked for a 10pm gig @ the Drake Hotel that same evening, he's doing double-duty that night and opening for Martha too.

Ms Wainwright was SUPERB last night in MTL. Really brought the house down.

She f-in brilliant in Toronto on Thursday night too. I loved her cover of C'est Manifique and really, really loved her cover of Leonard Cohen's "Tower of Song". Amazing song, amazing rendition of it.

And her intro to BMFA was funny - "Here's a song you'll only here on the CD or live..."
