I recently went to see Kalan Porter in concert and a woman named Amanda Stott opened for him. she played piano and sang, she was very good. i do know that she has a second album coming out in march. Is anyone around here a fan or has heard of her?

Well she's from Manitoba (I think Brandon). She used to be in the country scene and now she's trying to change her style/sound. She was nominated for Best New Solo Artist in 2001, which Nelly Furtado won (Sarah Harmer was also nominated that year).

I kind of like what I've heard of her new stuff (though I didn't really like her country stuff).

You weren't at the St. catharines show when you should've been at Slean's show that night were you?

no i was in Montreal and unfortunately sarah's show here will be at an 18+ venue

I havent heard any of her country stuff but her new stuff is very good, it's more ballad oriented. She seems very nice and i especially enjoyed her piano playing, she's quite talented.
