Woah... while investigating the Jorane show here in Hamilton in August, discovered there's a huge lineup (with all the usual suspects):

http://www.creativearts.on.ca/performers.html

Liam Titcomb, Jeremy Fisher, Kalan Porter, Lindy, The Wailin Jennys, Jorane, and the Nylons are the ones I recognize so far, with a bunch of TBA's

The schedule has been updated, Jorane is now playing Friday not Sunday, the same night as Jeremy Fisher, Kalan Porter and Liam Titcomb.

Pretty good line-up, but alas, not in the cards for me that weekend.

Check out Jimmy Bowskill if you make it - wow, 14 year old blues phenom. Close your eyes and you'd never guess he's so young.

Well the first day of this was great!

Jorane's performance was wonderful, and finally got some of the early-arriving Kalanadians to shut up, temporarily at least. The older ones were less appropriate. Funnily enough, Lesly (Sarah's Tour Manager) was operating the sound board for her.

Dala were a group I'd never heard before ... two female singers together as a duo, rreally great performance Smiler Really upbeat, great harmonies Smiler

Liam Titcomb was next, accompanied by none other that Pico and Blake!! He was pretty good but the screaming girls in the crowd were a little much.... not much else to say, but apparently he did stick around for over 2 hours signing autographs... impressive.

Jeremy Fisher was great as usual, one of his better performances that Iv'e seen... he had a full band too. We got a new song or two, plus all the singles and one or two older songs. Lesly was manning the sound board for Jeremy too....

Kalan Porter was... terrible. As expected. I gotta give him credit for being an amazing fiddler, but he should focus on that rather than the terrible music the girls scream for (nto to mention the plethora of covers outside of his range... he ruined Bowie and even Phil Collins for me!)

haha.
I only ended up spending another couple hours there on Saturday, just wandering around and such. I saw pretty well all the musical acts I wanted to on Friday Smiler
So fun though. Everyone should go next year, at least for a day! Smiler
