While entering a restaurant, I heard the song Somebody's Arms playing. I actually was barely able to contain myself from asking one of the people who worked there if it was the radio or a CD (mixed or her's). I didn't want to leave the entrance hall because it was the most quiet place. haha... anyone experience anything of the sort?
Well, a lot of places have those digital jukeboxes now, where there's a touch screen with all these artists (sometimes the songs are accompanied by the video, if it exists). Anyway, when paying for a few tracks once, I was pleasantly surprised to see some Sarah Slean in there (sure it was just the singles, but they don't have every single released by everyone on there or anything, so it was still nice to see). I've Slean-i-fied both a sports lounge and a Boston Pizza. :P
Slean-i-fied. eureka we have a new word! hmmmm... well not necessarily a new word considering that you could put any word before "i-fied" but the context, not to mention the potential, of it all! i can't believe i've never used it before. lol.
I once heard "Sweet Ones" being covered by some artist at showcase at the Rivoli. On the way home I learned that Sarah was the original artist of that song.
I was just caught of gaurd catching her on Play and hearing her on the Mix one morning when I had an exam to write.
I do want to hear her in Joy Ride sometime or catch her Dawson's and Murdur in Small time X.
At work they installed a music machine that has something like 400 programmed songs in it (no more sneaking in cds instead of the official store music, boo!) and Lucky Me is a song on there. The first time I heard it I danced a coworkers 4 year old daughter all around the store
...if this is all we've got to fight for, rage my darling rage...
cute story. =) reminds me of the story you (or maybe it was someone else haha) told us about Sarah Slean singing and dancing to a little girl after one of her concerts.
Well, I heard a Sarah Slean song forever ago (I can never remember what song it was. All I know is that I recognized her voice) At our bowling Alley. I squeed and lofted the ball. ^^;;
I also heard Eliot at Boston Pizza The other day. They recently got Satellite Radio so they just set it to different stuff. That was a good music night. Feist, Broken Social Scene, Sarah Slean, Iron and Wine...
my friend told me she had on the radio last night and she heard john XXIII she said it was a station that was playing stories and such. it was newer. they mentioned the gallery. i'm assuming cbc, but i don't know.
